This is a beautifully maintained Inn with breathtaking ocean views. The beach is a few minutes away. It is family run and the staff are friendly and ready to help when needed. They will go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. There's plenty to do in the area such as art galleries and exhibitions,... More

bass rocks ocean in is an exceptionally well run, friendly hotel offering certainly the most generous "continental breakfast" i have ever had served at a hotel. all of the pastries and breads (except bagels) were homemade, and the abundant staff kept the table stocked from 0730 ujtil 1030. the breakfast even had two types of delicious quiche lorraine. the view... My wife and I spent one night at Bass Rocks Ocean Inn, during a trip up the New England coast. We had booked the room in advance and were looking forward to our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very nice person at the desk, who was very helpful. When we entered the room, we were surprised because... More

My husband and I stayed in July for three nights and only wished it could have been longer. We stayed on the second floor king size room. The views from the room were absolutely breathtaking....We were happy it had not rained because there was not a cover over our deck....I would maybe change to another room next visit and there... Okay, so I paid more than I normally do for a room, but we had a deck off our room(albeit shared by the other rooms on the floor), with an ocean view, a decent buffet breakfast with a view, a pool table, fire pit, bikes, and pool with jacuzzi. The area is pretty quiet and if you are under 60,... More

Our room was on the first floor directly behind the pool. The view was beautiful but our room did have an odor of the chlorine which I assumed was coming from the pool. we kept the sliding window open for awhile which helped. They can certainly upgrade or buy new bikes for the customers' use. The current ones are old/rusted.... More

My husband and I stayed at Bass Rocks Ocean Inn 6/24-6/27/15, during St. Peter's Fiesta. I was born in Gloucester and left at a young age. This was a return to my Gloucester paradise. The hotel is situated along the back shore of the rocky coast of Gloucester. We requested and got the room we last stayed in. It was... More

We had originally planned to stay at the Bass Rocks Ocean Inn for two nights during our New England road trip but we extended our stay for an extra night because we love it here. The views are fantastic. The rooms are average in size but very comfortable and have everything necessary for a wonderful stay. The king size beds... More

Second stay here and loved it just as much. Last time I stayed in an Oceanfront House double queen on the second floor; this time a second flour Seaview king. Each has advantages and both were comfortable and really clean, with terrific views of the ocean. I do recommend trying to stay upstairs for better view and orivacy but if... More

I can't wait to go back. The view is indescribably beautiful. The rooms are awesomely clean and decorate nicely. The staff is great. The weather was perfect while we were there the 2nd week of June. The balconies are not private - more like a long veranda but each room has its own furniture and we never saw anyone else... More
