My wife and I recently stayed a couple of nights in Gloucester before heading to Boston for a couple Red Sox games. We are from North Carolina so one could imagine the conversations we had with the locals about our accents!! Everyone at the Crows Nest on the day we went were locals but us and we were made to... My second time here. Wife was a bit apprehensive, her first time. However, she enjoyed it as well. Rooms are very basic but clean. Bed was just O.K. and we slept like babies. Room comes with a fridge and has good heating control. Can't beat the location of this hotel on the harbour. The great bar downstairs is a bonus.... More

The Crow's Nest is quite a novelty, best known as the Locals Pub as depicted in the film, the Perfect Storm. The service was good, the rooms were clean and everyone was friendly. This Labor Day weekend was the 30th Annual Schooner Festival and there were few places willing to accept a one night reservation. Even if they were willing... More

The booking and check in were supremely uncomplicated - a phone call, and that was it, and we were able to book for one night, which most other places didn't allow. The area is a bit down at heel (though it's only a few minutes walk to the centre of town), and the rooms are uninspiring. It's clean, but the... More

My husband and I stayed at the Crow's Nest during a one night stop in Gloucester. I chose this place because it did not require a 2-night minimum stay, it was near downtown, it was inexpensive and it was a novelty. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and had to drive around the very hilly, narrow block until we found... More

For $65-75 a night you can get a sweet, sound, warm, clean room with a view of the water in Gloucester's working harbor. In New England, such low prices for overnight lodgings are almost unheard of! (unlike out West). The Crow's Nest looks like it might be divey and seedy but it isn't: these are simple accommodations but they are... More

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights in late August. We wanted to visit Gloucester, but were finding it hard to get a reasonably price room. Read the reviews and thought we'll give it a try. The Crow's Nest is situated on a fairly busy road, but we had a room on the 2nd floor at the back.... More

The rooms are not plush, but very comfortable and extremely clean. NIce hot showers and great water pressure. We had a great night sleep. At $75 per night, it's a great value for those who don't mind the basics. We loved the bar and the locals. They were extremely friendly and we shared stories about fishing Florida vs. Mass. One... First impressions are that you collect your key from a raucous bar on the wharf. Don't be surprised if they assume you are a prostitute taking a man to a room.. Once you get upstairs the room is BRAND NEW! The street is noisy but the price is half of what you pay in other local places. It is clean... More

Staying at the crow's nest, expect a special experience. Very far from luxury, even from average motel (old fashioned, or rather plain old furniture, months of dust on semi-broken shades, etc), but gives you a unique feel of the fishermen town of Gloucester. In the summer, where you are mostly out of your room anyway, it is probably the best... More
