The main building (Castle is too grand a term) is an interesting Victorian pile. It might have been a pleasant stay. Unfortunately the dark side is a very tired 1 on the grounds that we were sentenced t. Very tired. We were placed in a moldy lower level room (dehumidifier). When we couldn't turn on any useful lights, my wife... More

We stayed two nights at this beautiful inn. We stayed in a motel room on the grounds which was so nice. It had a balcony off the back overlooking the river. Easy to take our luggage in!! Very clean and quaint!! We ate dinner at their restaurant. Best food and service on our two week New England trip. Staff was... More

We were very pleased with our stay at the Castle Manor. It is a quaint, traditional old Castle with beautiful antiques everywhere. Each room has its own character. We stayed in the Family Suite which had two rooms. Several rooms have turrets, giving extra space & character. The staff, Laura & Maureen, were extremely friendly. They remembered our names and... We held our June wedding on the deck - ceremony at the gazebo, cocktail hour on the adorable front porch and reception under the tent on the oh-so-romantic deck. The atmosphere is beautiful and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was wonderful. Laura and her staff ran our day seamlessly and made all of our guests feel... More

I have to share that I have vacationed many places on Cape Ann and found this Inn to be a hidden gem for sure. The staff are warm, inviting and go out of their way to be helpful. I was most impressed that you are welcomed by name...a comforting touch. The chef and his wait staff take care of your... More

We arrived late and very tired. The online booking which we had made a few hours earlier hadn't come through, and we had to call the owner for assistance. He came over immediately and found us a nice suitable room, even though it was late. The room was lovely, and the breakfast wonderful (fresh fruit and muffins, cereal, eggs, bagels,... More

This is our second review of The Castle Manor Inn...., So let me wrap this up for all of you "Nay Sayer's". The main house is warm, romantic and well appointed. The motor lodge wings are exactly that. Try getting a room in Manhattan or Boston for around $100.00...,Oh yeah....,Not happening!, The Inn is walking distance to the Boulevard. The... More

I found this place thru tripadvisor so I had an idea of what it was like. The room we stayed in was Daring Adventure. Very nice. Needs a new mattress but other than that it was big and airy with nice sitting area. It is away from the road which you definitely need here. The view was advertised as water... More

Stayed in the motel for a Gloucester wedding. Room smelled moldy. Had to run faucet for 10 minutes to get hot water. Roommate fell in the shower because tub was so slippery. Shower nozzle barely trickled water. Tile floor by tub rotting & ready to cave in. Upon checking out & reporting everything owner never offered discount or breakfast or... More
