At $275 per nite, I expect at least a clean place to live in. The bathrooms are old, wallpaper falling off the walls. And the road noise is horrendous. The facility is In great need for updating. The grounds were a mess. If we had not seen the sign, we would have thought that this was a private residence with... more

We recently stayed at Jonathon Munroe house for three nights and found it disappointing. Perhaps it is partly a reflection of prices generally at Martha's Vineyard ,but we expected something better for $375 a night. We stayed in the Carriage House. It is badly in need of a serious renovation and update. The furniture is shabby, worn and mismatched. The... more

The room was very clean and comfortable as was the rest of the house. One cool night Chip built a fire in the fireplace and we sipped wine in front of it during the wine hour. Chip is a bit of a character who made us laugh. He was also very friendly and asked us each day about what we... more

My new husband and I went to the Jonathan Munroe House for our honeymoon, becuase of the great reviews it had gotten, and the price seemed fantastic. When we arrived, in the middle of the afternoon, we walked through the house- passed a few people reading outside, a guy in the living room who said hello, and went out to... more

My (very new husband) and I stayed here for a week in mid-August for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. I can't speak for the rooms, as we stayed in the cottage--and it was absolutely perfect. The living area downstairs is very nicely decorated in a Cape Cod style (as opposed to the main house, which appears more Victorian).... more

First off let me start off by saying that this is the first time I ever stayed anywhere based off of great ratings where I was completely dissatisfied with the experience. Upon arrival there was nobody around and we had to wait for the owner to show up. He acted very spacey and could not figure out what room we... more

We were suggested this place on tripadvisor and everyone was right. After being planning a wedding a getting married, my wife and I came here to get away. It was exactly what we were looking for. I almost don't want to write this becuase I want to keep it a secret. The value is awesome. Great breakfasts, awesomely cool shady... more

We spent 4 nights at The Jonathan Munroe House and Loved it! We had the Private Cottage in the back and it was very romantic. The Cottage has a screened in porch, a living room with a working fireplace, a kitchenette area and then a bedroom upstairs with a full bath and a whirlpool tub. The Owner, Chip, was wonderful... more

I satyed at the Jonathan Munroe House for 3 days in the end of June. It was a perfect location. In town but not in the midst of all the buzz so you there was no noise. There was a beach a short 10 minute walk away, the ferry to Chappy about 5-8 minutes away and lots of dining options... more

We were very impressed by our stay in room #3 of the Jonathan Munroe House. We found our room to be very spacious and clean (in fact, another couple we traveled with stayed at the Colonnial Inn and I think that our room was almost double the size of theirs, but for a cheaper price!) Prior to our trip, I... more
