My husband, 19 month old, and I stayed here for a long weekend. I would NEVER stay here again. The rooms were tiny and smelled. The owners were not friendly or helpful. They were forever sitting on the porch smoking and scantly clad. Not at all professional or appropriate. It felt like they were aware that their motels location was... more

The Hawthorne is definitely a motel...so as long as those are your expectations, then you may not be disappointed. The location on the coast next to the very nice Chatham Bars Inn is good, but our room over looked the parking lot. The room was clean and efforts have been made to make it charming....but it still has the old,... more

Our stay at the Hawthorne was amazing. The view from our rooms were spectacular. The rooms are very clean with plenty of room. The entire staff was very nice and always had a smile. We loved our stay and look forward to going back. Highly recommended ! more

This is an ideal place if you want to spend most of your time outside, enjoying Chatham and the Cape. You'll be sure to find a clean room, good service and a central beach-view location. more

The "water views" on the upper level are truly special. On the lower level the immediate view is the parking lot with water in the obscured distance. They should be honest with guests and describe the lower level accurately. Also the lower level lacked wireless even though we were told it was available in all rooms. We reserved water view... more

My husband and I booked our trip to the Hawthorne about 3 weeks before the trip. The Hawthorne was one of the only places to stay in Chtham that wasn't completely booked. This made me nervous but I really wanted to stay in Chatham. My husband and I have both travelled a lot with work and are very over picky... more

After spending much time trying to select which town to stay in on the cape, we settled on chatham as it was described as 'up market' and so it was ! Upmarket also means that this town is expensive to stay in but we managed to find the only motel right on the beach within 5mins walk of a beautiful... more

Me and my husband spent our honeymoon here in "The Hawthorne". Our week stay here in the hotel is worth the wait for booking or for making reservations. Every morning me and my husband loves to see the sun coming up. We will just open the big area window and there from your bed, you can see the glowing amber... more

We stayed here about 8 years ago, and the hotel has made major improvements since then. The rooms and bathrooms are quite nice, and it is quiet! The view of Aunt Lydia's Cove and Pleasant Bay is exceptional. The hotel has its own private beach complete with comfortable chairs, lounges and towels, a very short walk from the hotel. AC... more

When I contacted the property to book a room, I was clear in my request for a full ocean view, a view that I could see clearly from the room. The owner assured me that room 112 had a great full view and I booked the room. When I arrived and checked into my room I discovered that my "full"... more
