I came to Brewster for a family funeral and booked 3 nights at the Pepper House Bed and Breakfast. It was in a perfect location for me, close to everything in town. Rather than welcomed and pampered, we were made uncomfortable here! Although the location of the inn is ideal within walking distance of the beach, Brewster General store, and restaurants, the accomodations are not up to the expected bed and breakfast standards. These guests made us extremely uncomfortable. Reservation was made for 2 people and 3 people showed up. When I called to discuss the situation with them is when the problems began. We have several rooms that can accomodate more than 2 people, and we have accomodated an extra person in a room with short notice, but with an extra charge....

My wife and I booked two separate inns by mistake but we were glad we did in the end. Arriving mid afternoon at The Pepper Mill, we found the property unkempt, with the weeds, shrubs and grass in bad need of trimming, the house needing paint and the interior just looking "tired". These folks never stayed at our Inn! They did make a reservation, came to check in 3 1/2 hours early at 11:30 a.m. The departing guests had just checked out and the room was not ready. We had a wonderful two night stay at the Pepper House. The Inn is run by a lovely family, who are very gracious, and extremely knowledgeable of Cape Cod (and many other places, too).
