I have always been a huge fan of Nickerson State Park. I used to come here at least every other year growing up, but this was my first time coming with my wife. We had an amazing time. It's the perfect place for visiting the cape, as it is located in a very centralized location. If you enjoying biking, they... More

Key location on the cape. Centrally located from tip to tip of the cape. The bike trail goes right thru the park. Fresh water kettle ponds great for young kids. Pick your site carefully, they vary in size and privacy.

Nice location. Enjoyed the beaches and then coming back to the quiet park. Showers were state showers, hot water and updated. Sites were large, but angles were opposite of the direction of the road. No fault of the park as it was built in the 1930s. No wifi, but good cell service/Verizon. The park rangers were very nice. The maintenance... More

This campground is well laid out. The service is great with quick check in and check out. Before checkout time the morning of checkout a staff member came out in a cart to tell us our site was available for another night if we wanted to stay. We went biking on the adjacent rail trails which are beautifully maintained. The... More

We camped here for one and had a wonderful time exploring the ponds and bike trails. Close to great beaches and restaurants. Only downside was dirty bathrooms. Especially loved how the bike trail leads directly from the park to a few ice cream places. Kids and I really enjoyed this!

Generally speaking, the campground is good to go. The facilities are plenty and as described by the park. The price is pretty inexpensive . If you reserve online, you need to pay non-refundable reservation fee. Down side is too many bugs such as spiders in this park in some seasons. We just went there in labor day. It took a... More

I had heard so many great things about Nickerson, maybe my expectations were too high. When we arrived our campsite was filthy. The worst part was that there was toilet paper all around the exterior of the site. There was also candy wrappers, plastic bags, tons of those plastic wrappers from juice box straws, sticky clumps of food around the... More

I've camped at Nickerson multiple times and have enjoyed every visit. The park is large but sites book months in advance, so it can be difficult to find a last minute site on weekends, holidays, and during the summer. The sites vary in size and quality, with the best ones reserved up to a year in advance, so book early!... More

I had to take off stars for the Bathrooms! For me, roughing it is usually the Day's Inn. Last year I decided to try tent camping with my son. Not good in the rain! This year, bought a pop up and went exploring campgrounds. Went glamping at $79 per night with indoor pools and hot tubs on a few trips... More

I wish you could see the site when you reserve online. I was very disappointed when we arrived and saw a long downhill, narrow site. It was private, but not a lot of room to move around where there was flat space. If you have a small tent and want privacy this is the site for you.
