I had heard so many great things about Nickerson, maybe my expectations were too high. When we arrived our campsite was filthy. The worst part was that there was toilet paper all around the exterior of the site. There was also candy wrappers, plastic bags, tons of those plastic wrappers from juice box straws, sticky clumps of food around the... More

I've camped at Nickerson multiple times and have enjoyed every visit. The park is large but sites book months in advance, so it can be difficult to find a last minute site on weekends, holidays, and during the summer. The sites vary in size and quality, with the best ones reserved up to a year in advance, so book early!... More

I had to take off stars for the Bathrooms! For me, roughing it is usually the Day's Inn. Last year I decided to try tent camping with my son. Not good in the rain! This year, bought a pop up and went exploring campgrounds. Went glamping at $79 per night with indoor pools and hot tubs on a few trips... More

I wish you could see the site when you reserve online. I was very disappointed when we arrived and saw a long downhill, narrow site. It was private, but not a lot of room to move around where there was flat space. If you have a small tent and want privacy this is the site for you.

Overall the price was right and it is in a nice location to visit Cape Cod beaches and towns. Stayed in site 40 in Area 1 with a tent. The sites seemed small and we were on a bit of a hill, which made sleeping a pain. Very wooded area that is nice and quiet at night (and very dark!).... More

We just returned from a week at this beautiful park. It is located close to everything you want to see in Cape Cod, but has plenty to see and do if you decide to stay in the park for the day. I wouldn't say the bathrooms are that clean, but they were fine. A little updating would go a long... More

My family stayed here for 4 days in October. The campsite had plenty of space and we were not on top of the adjacent sites. The camp store was very nice and had everything you may have forgotten. There were also flying squirrels that would wander to our campsite at night and entertain us.

It’s our first time camping and we only stayed there for one night. So not much to compare with. We had a great lot of fun. Nice ground, a lot of people but not too noisy. Location is great. There are a few ponds in the park. We stayed in area 7 and there’s a beautiful pond right at the... More

My GF had camped at Nickerson twice before and I was anxious to see how it compared to my beloved Adirondacks. The campgrounds themselves are well organized and a store on the grounds was a plus. Many loops with campsites scattered about so as to not be on top with one another. But campsites are relatedly close together. Primarily a... More

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights as part of a larger road trip. The bathrooms were okay for a state park - clean enough but the grounds were noisy. Many people brought young babies (less than 2 years old) that screamed all night. I can appreciate camping is a family activity but in an area where... More
