First of all I am a local and have seen some good and bad beaches. Scussett beach is #3 in my top 5 of the best. It is a little rocky, but it is big and generally clean. I have camped here with my family once in a tent. That didn't go good not due to the people who work... More

I would suggest leaving early from wherever you are coming from. The traffic gets backed up. Upon arrival I noticed it does have a campground which is great to stay and walk back and forth from the beach and not have to get stuck in traffic. They have bathrooms and showers. Agreat variety of food. the beach is big and... More

What a terrific location on the mainland side. This beachfront by the entrance to the canal proves to be an excellent value. The beach, while it can get a bit rocky, is clean and safe and the water is calm in this bay side setting. . While it can get crowded by the boardwalk area dump off on the beach,... More

Nice, convenient and clean beach. Good clean bathrooms, outside showers and only $7.00 to park. A lot easier & cheaper than fighting the traffic over the bridge and on the cape. The water is clean and calm but very rocky-bring your beach shoes, flip flops....whatever. Don't go barefoot. The Staff here work very hard to keep this beach sparkling. It... More

We stayed here a total of 5 nights with a trailer, and even though we had to switch sites (understandable when you have central reservations based in New York) it was done with a minimum amount of trouble. We found the facilities very clean, close to all sites with plenty of hot water and an efficient dumping station. One staff... More

Scusset Beach is a small park with a beach and campground that is separated by a parking lot. Beach is rough sand/rocks with little wake. Accommodations at the campground are with minimal amenities. Electric at 30 amps only. Power surges are often and if not protected at the pole costly to repair when it blows out the refridge or TV.... More

enjoyed the area except not being able to bring my small dog to the beach.. took him to the canal instead... I DO pick up after my dog and I notice that really MOST people do. Also missed campfire... love that when I camp!

Camped at scusset beach state reservation campground. Tent sites are very small. They were an area carved into bushes, which led to extremely large amount of mosquitos. could not sit and relax in campsite. went to bed early to escape mosquitos and packed up and left early next morning. will not camp here again.

Don't understand why we can not have a campfire. They are allowed in tent sites only but shouldn't be. I believe that's having a campfire is part of a camping experience. Please consider allowing campfires at all sites. Thank You
