It takes a special person to welcome strangers into her home and make them feel like family visiting from out of town. And what a home Carolyn Taylor has made! Baird Tavern breathes. Exposed beams reach overhead and light spills in through the windows to warm the hardwood floors and accent the lovely selection of antiques that all share the... More

About an hour and a half after leaving our very nice and comfy bed and breakfast in Lenox, MA, we began to wonder if we had made a mistake when we found our next bed and breakfast in Blanford, MA, as it is in a remote area. However, shortly after our arrival, having met the owner Carolyn Taylor and her... More

I've had the pleasure of staying with the gracious hostess of Baird Tavern twice and brought my husband along the second time to introduce him to this tranquil, historical site. We especially enjoyed the homemade blueberry pancakes and watching the hummingbirds float outside the windows and we feasted. The location is just remote enough that you feel as if you've... More

Although it's physically close to Route 90, the Baird Tavern is at least a 20 minute drive from nearby populated town centers. Its remote peaceful setting combined with the tavern's colonial history and simple décor provides a truly unique experience for its guests. Carolyn is a gracious and caring hostess, a wealth of knowledge about the history of the house... More

A weekend up in the snowy mountains with beautiful birds enjoying the outdoors, a scrumptious fresh breakfast, a lovely sweet hostess, a cozy warm bed, and a cute fluffy puppy-on Valentines day weekend. Sounds like a dream weekend getaway? Well it sure was. My fiance and I love Northampton Massachusetts and we searched for a B&B near by. And sure... More

It was great time . We were very comfortable and felt like at our cozy home with Carolyn 's host and hospitality . She has very friendly, warm ,personality and great cook. We enjoyed with our delicious breakfast especially in the kitchen table near wood stove and outside all snow like white blanket everywhere. Unforgettable time at 247 year old... More

We stayed at Baird Tavern in early October. It was comfortable, welcoming and truly full of the character of of the late 1700's. It was not cluttered with stuff, yet everywhere one turned, there was a piece of history. I loved the warm wood and the clean, pleasant smell of the walls and floors. Our room was wonderful and while... More

My husband and I recently took a short break from our hectic schedules to spend a long weekend at the Baird Tavern Bed and Breakfast. The first thing we noticed was the authenticity of the house – the house itself (built in 1768) and the furnishings (which are period) do take you back in time. Carolyn was a welcoming and... More

What a unique property. My husband and I felt as if we had traveled back in time, but retained the creature comforts of the 21st century. Anyone who appreciates 18th century architecture will love this old tavern with its original fireplaces, wide plank floors and authentic furnishings. Our breakfast of blueberry pancakes and bacon was delicious, and Clark the dog... More

We stayed at the Baird Tavern this weekend, thinking it would make a perfect stopover, as we traveled over and back to a show in NY. While the show was wonderful, our "stopover" was even better. Carolyn greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. We slept soundly -- bed was comfortable, room temperature perfect. We awakened to the best... More
