THE START OF A PERFECT NEW ENGLAND THANKSGIVING.I stayed here on Thanksgiving eve of l998. I loved the steep winding staircase to the upstairs. Coming from the west coast, I was not used to such antiquity and I loved it. The next morning, of course, was Thanksgiving. I got up and went to the window and there was some.......white stuff coming down. I honestly did not know it was snow! The breakfast, family style, was wonderful. AND, one of the cooks was from Santa Barbara County, where I was from! Very homey, family atmosphere. It was start to a perfect crisp day. more
