This past fall, my family and I had a reunion at the Crocker Tavern, and my stay left me with nothing but joyful and pleasant memories. I stayed at the tavern with my three children, my parents, my sister/her husband and her four kids, and my brother/his wife and his two kids. My father, a history buff, originally discovered the... I would echo previous reviews that express disappointment in the upkeep of this beautiful building. Our room (pink room) was pretty terrible- the mattress (which I consider to be of paramount importance in any lodging concern) seemed to be as old as the building itself, as did the bedding. The room also had unsightly and possibly dangerous extension cords for... More

Both sets of stairs are extremely slippery and quite dangerous, the railings and the banisters could not possibly be up to code. They were dangerous to both the older and younger family members, and even an adult member slipped on them, knocking down the child in front of him. The stairwell up to the attic looked dangerous for small children,... More

Not kid-friendly at all. Needs to be thoroughly updated and CLEANED. The air conditioners were filled with mold, as well as some parts of the bathrooms. Stained linens. Blankets falling apart. Not worth the thousands of dollars we spent on it.

We had a family gathering at the house for a week in July. The location is great, but the house itself needs significant work. The linens were stained and need to be replaced (did let the owners know and they refunded the linen deposit), the cold water nob in a shower kept falling off, the cold water in a bathroom... More

The grounds are nice, but the rooms need attention. In our room, no lamp worked within 12 feet of the bed, and the ancient air conditioner had broken nobs. The sheets and pillows dated seemed like originals from when it was a real tavern in 1776. The tiny bathroom reeked of urine -- we had to throw the rug and... More

I have stayed at the Crocker Tavern twice. I am a resident of California, and found this to be one of the most enchanting homes I have had the pleasure of vactioning in. So much so, I arranged to take my daughter there as a graduation gift after my first stay. The home is utterly charming and delightfully furnished. Each... More

Our stay at the Crocker Tavern was wonderful! The house and gardens are beautiful and very spacious. You feel as if you stepped back in time. The fun really started once we found out it was on the Haunted History tour ! We had our own ghostly sitings...several of us running into each other wearing sheets. The home is charming... More
