We stayed in the "Sail Makers Loft". This room is an apartment with full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The third floor has a sitting room and door to a porch over looking the Wicomico River and Whitehaven Ferry. From the pouch you see the river, ferry, lawn and gardens, many birds and rabbits. Very quiet and relaxing. Cindy... More

Cindy and Jefferson were great hosts and chefs. We celebrated a special birthday with 9 guests in 4 rooms. As an extra Cindy prepared and served a delicious dinner of short-ribs and crab cakes and an amazing peach cake with peach ice cream,

We love the Whitehaven Hotel. Cindy and Jefferson make each vist like coming home. A group of our family members try to get together at least once a year at the Whitehaven. Every one of us loves to vist at the Whitehaven, sit on the front porch watch the ferry cross the river. Stroll through the town wiht our dogs... More

If you're looking for a laid-back but historically charming B&B, then this place is for you. It's at the end of the road, unless you wish to take the 3-car ferry across the river. Which means there's not a lot of vehicle traffic noise to fill the air. Mostly just the sounds of water-fowl. I used an inn-provided kayak and... More

Wow! This was our first time at an inn and it won't be our last. The historic building is marvelous to look at, inside and out. We were treated like wanted family and greeted with wine and cheese upon arrival. Frenzied dragonflies entertained us as we shared the porch rockers with fellow inn-mates to watch the ferry and the barges... More

One of our relations (a US citizen) suggested staying at the Whitehaven Hotel, Maryland. We were pleased that we did so. Its a small hotel/B&B run by Cindy. To us Brits it allowed us to see a side of the US that most visitors probably would not see. We arrived when Cindy wasn't there, but she left clear instructions. The... More

A spectacular setting on the Wicomico with the ferry operation and a nest of ospreys visible so close to our bay window. Innkeeper Cindy went out of her way to check in with us the night we arrived and enjoyed coffee and a chat over the best, bar none, sweet potato hashbrowns in the state, or the nation. It's an... My husband and I needed a relaxing getaway weekend in the middle of nowhere, away from the crowd and hustle and bustle of city life. We found ourselves in the Whitehaven- a lovely, historic hotel on the banks of the Wicomico River. Although we were planning on a 2-night stay, somehow we wound up going for the Valentine's dinner! We... More

We only stayed one night as we were exploring Maryland's eastern shore. We arrived in late afternoon and thankfully had time to settle into our room, have a snack of home-baked cookies and a walk around the quaint quiet settlement of Whitehaven. We stood on the river's edge and watched the three car ferry go back and forth and felt... More
