I ran into this place while exploring the St. Michael's area during a previous trip. It is easy to avoid because the dirt road leading to the place runs through some secret Navy Radar testing facility with the usual frightening signs. However, I decided to venture further and found this magnificent spot and B&B. I made a vow to stay... More

Bob and Tracy were lovely and we had a great experience, even with the cold weather. Can't even imagine how great this place would be in the summer. Definitely plan on coming back sometime in the future.

My husband and I enjoy finding relaxing getaway spots by the water so after reading the reviews we decided to check it out. It was wonderful! We stayed in the Tilghman Room which has a king-sized bed and the most fantastic views. We spent the afternoon wandering around the beautiful property, we went out for dinner in town, and then... We were looking for a place within driving distance from Washington DC that would feel off the beaten path...and we found it. Being on the very tip of Tilghman Island is magical, it's quiet, it's nature at it's finest. The best part of the whole experience, though, are the hosts...Bob and Tracey. They are literally the hosts with the mosts...I... More

Bob and Tracy were gracious hosts and the views are amazing- it made for a perfect relaxing getaway. We were able to check out some of local attractions but not everything is open this time if year so make sure to to a little research if you're hoping to hit up specific attractions. Overall it's a great place for good... More

One of my best trips ever. It is a beautiful location with great owners with a gift of making you feel welcome and at home. The rooms were clean. The Attic Hideaway room is small but I knew that ahead of time. It is great though for one person who is not tall. Everyone in town was friendly and welcoming. I... More

My husband and I stayed for a couple of nights between Christmas and New Year's Eve. This was only our second visit to the Black Walnut, but we felt as if we were coming home for the holidays. The proprietors were as gracious as ever. The Inn was beautifully decorated. All the local restaurants were open for business. The peace... More

My husband and I spent a couple of days at the Inn, and we most certainly will return! It was spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. The surroundings are just lovely and provide a welcome getaway from Real Life. Breakfast was delicious. Bob and Tracy are genial, welcoming hosts. We look forward to coming back in the warmer weather, to do... More

I went for a short weekend and it was lovely, breakfast was delicious and the ambiance delightful! St. Michaels is a short distance from Tilghman island, and the island itself is quiet and peaceful. Thanks again!

The owners of the Inn are very nice and accommodating, but the Inn itself needs refreshing. Furnishings and finishes were old and worn, and our room smelled musty and vaguely of heating fuel. The location is beautiful, but I expected nicer accommodations for the price.
