Despite all the glowing reviews we had read, we were rather disappointed in what we found at the Blue Heron. It was attractive, clean and centrally located. But it was sorely lacking in character and history. Reagan, the Innkeeper, was pleasant, but not overly welcoming and really had no clue as to how to make her guests feel at home.... More

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Heron for our first night as a wedded couple. It was romantic and perfect! We were able to arrive right next door to the hotel via sail boat, which made the day do special. The room booked for us was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable. We were sad that we could... More

Let me start by saying this was our second stay at the Blue Heron Inn. We first stayed 5 years ago at which time we became engaged. It was a wonderful stay, warm hospitality and one of the most delicious breakfasts we've ever had! Inn keeper Amanda Comer received her culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and at... More

We spent two nights here in August and were very pleased. The check in was smooth, the room was lovely and as advertised. It was a great location to walk or bike to other areas in Solomon's. We liked the idea of having a restaurant in the living room area of the first floor and ate dinner there one night.... More

We stayed in room three, which is on the third floor. The description calls it cozy, and compared to the king suites on the second floor it is much smaller. We thought is was just the right space for us, and our 8 lb Italian Greyhound. The queen bed was very comfortable; the bathroom was much larger than expected and... More

We had similar problems as stated by previous reviewers. Beautiful house, gorgeous room, great location. The owner/manager seems to be absent, breakfast not so great but plentiful, room cleaned very late in the day, like at 4 pm, no one watching the house, we walked in one night late and door was unlocked and no one downstairs, kind of spooky.... We have been to the Blue Heron a few times and this year the service wasn't what we expected on our last visit. I couldn't get Regan, the manager, to call me back and had to email or call 4 or 5 times to get a reservation. If we hadn't had such a great experience in years past, I would... More

We made reservations well ahead in advance to go to the Blue Heron Inn, which we had visited twice before. A few weeks after we made the reservation, the owner/manager called and said that there was a "miscommunication in the scheduling" and that she'd "accidentally" scheduled a wedding the weekend we had scheduled, but that part of our party could... The owners' energy is all on their restaurant, which totally takes over the first floor of the house. It felt as though the bedrooms were really just a sideline. The restaurant is very noisy, including the jazz music on speakers that come through very loudly in the bedrooms above the restaurant. I believe that the restaurant is open on weekends... More

We stayed in the suite with some friends of ours on the pullout, the hosts were wonderful, property is very nice. Everything in town is in short walking distance to here as well, enjoyed exploring the area.
