Very late in writing this review but it came to mind today and I wanted to sing praises! My husband and I spent our wedding night here - two nights total before we headed off to our honeymoon adventure. The Jane Austen room was wonderful! Extremely comfortable bed and lovely vintage furniture and decor. The bathroom was spacious and dreamy... More

Alexander House is a rare pleasure that exceeds all expectations .We chose to stay based on the web site and were so pleased with the hosts, literary atmosphere, comfort amidst such thoughtfully appointed rooms. My favorite bell weather of a successful stay is the other guests. Evening apertif with pleasant conversation was a fine nightcap.

This is a pretty and well-appointed home. The rooms highlight authors, so it is interesting for bibliophiles. The breakfasts were well prepared and attractive. Notwithstanding, the number and specificity of the rules made it hard to feel totally at ease.

I had everything I needed and it was nice to be in a place that was so quiet and relaxing. She was very accomodating, even though I... More

I have stayed at the Booklovers' B & B twice now, both times associated with historical research for my novels (set in 18th C Maryland). I loved the place! It was so comfortable, and Elizabeth and Peter Alexander were so welcoming that it felt like home. I rate the Alexander House as one of the best B & Bs I... More

The Booklovers BnB is charming in every way. The BnB itself was absolutely beautiful, the owners are delightful, and the other guests were fun too. There are tons of things to see and do in the area, but down time is also easy and pleasant too. There are lots of quiet corners to be found to read your book or... More

My boyfriend found this place on the internet for a birthday getaway for me one winter and since then we have been repeat guests! We have busy jobs in DC and also happen to be avid readers and book collectors as a hobby so the idea of a booklovers b&b really intrigued us - and one can find the literary... More

I am so sad to have not had the opportunity to return to this sweet B & B. I arrived on a rainy night and rather than send me out into town, the hosts invited me to join them for dinner! When my computer wasn't working, they lent me theirs! Beyond the obviously generous hospitality, I loved my room and... More
