This is a nice B&B for readers. We enjoyed sitting in the Mark Twain Reading Room poking around the books on the shelves. We even found a book we liked so much we bought it soon thereafter! The innkeeper is a nice lady and was fun to talk to. We stayed in the Jane Austen Room and loved the claw... More

I was on business in Princess Anne and couldn't find my usual chain hotel, so decided to give this B&B a try. It was a very nice stay! I stayed in the Jane Austin suite, which was a nice size and had its own bathroom. I also liked that the B&B had wireless internet access, and I sat in the... More

We arrived early in the evening from Ottawa, Ontario, 9 hour drive. The Alexander House was exactly as portrayed in the tripacvisor photo. After our long journey we wanted to get settled and relax asap. Elizabeth grated us with a big smile and her welcoming nature started our visit in the right frame of mind. She told us about the... We had a last-minute need to stay overnight in Princess Anne and found the Alexander House on Tripadvisor. It was almost 8pm, but Elizabeth could not have been more accommodating. She offered a nice room for a reasonable price, and made suggestions for places to eat. What a gem, especially for booklovers like us! Quotations are everywhere, and each room... More

Pretty little town - very quiet on a saturday afternoon ! The bed and breakfast was very pleasant and very comfortable - we enjoyed the experience and the region - a bit early for the crabs but we did get some great softshell options! Elizabeth is very a great host and we loved our little trip !

This is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast for those who enjoy an extremely comfortable and clean setting with a delightful innkeeper, Elizabeth, who is terrific in providing a memorable visit topped off with a fantastic homemade breakfast. It's also a great place to stop on your way to New York or Boston for one of the Annual Antiquarian Book Fairs.... More

We stayed at the Alexander House for 1 night. Not many choices in the area. It is a 19th century 2 story home, nicely restored. We stayed in the Jane Austen room. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, 2nd floor. I believe there are 3 rooms in this B and B. Breakfast was included, crepes, with fruit and scrambled eggs. Juice and coffee.... More

Before heading to DC for a series of meetings, my wife and I wanted to explore the Delmarva peninsula. The first few days of our stay, we made trips to Assateague Island, enjoying the beach on the Atlantic side, and a great boat tour on the Chincoteague Island at the suggestion of our hostess, Elizabeth. Since we are from Colorado,... More

We loved our stay at the Alexander B&B in Princess Anne during a visit to spend time with two of our grown children. The proprietors have thought of every detail in furnishing rooms focused on authors. Quaint and thematic items make you imagine that you truly are sleeping in Jane Austen's bedroom or reading a book in front of a... More
