The Robert Morris Inn in Oxford, Maryland, is comfortable and the food -- thanks to co-owner and chef Mark Salter -- is great. But while my wife and I were there for a brief Easter break, unfortunately, one of us had an accident and wet the bed. Was this treated with tact and discretion? No. We came away totally embarrassed.... More

Thank you for choosing to visit our historic Inn and we are pleased that overall, you enjoyed your experience and we and our team appreciate your comments greatly. When we became aware of the accident, all bedding had to be disposed of and we did our very best to approach the subject in as sensitive, sympathetic and delicate a way... More

My husband and I just returned from a weekend at the Robert Morris Inn in Oxford Maryland. Oxford is on the Eastern Shore on the Maryland side. What a charming town. We started our day Saturday with a educational, fun and delicious cooking demonstration. Chef Mark demonstrated how to make several types of pasta and different sauces to go with... More

Many thanks for your kind words and we are delighted you enjoyed your experience. The winter has its own charms and a certain peace and tranquility descends upon the Eastern Shore. We are just setting out the Terraces with furniture and plantings, with Spring in the air. We look forward to welcoming you back. Mark and Ian More

We arrived on Valentine's Day 2015 to spend the night at the Robert Morris Inn. The location in Oxford is perfect; a corner lot with the Tred Avon River and the Bellevue-Oxford Ferry landing just across The Strand adjacent to the Inn. The staff was friendly, signed us in and pointed us to our room (#25, 3rd Floor corner room).... More

Dear Ryan S Thank you for visiting our Inn over Valentines Weekend and we are pleased you enjoyed your dining experience. Clearly you were not happy with the rest of it and we are sorry about that. So much of this was outside our control as the power to the entire Oxford area went out at 9.15pm as a consequence... More

We have spent the night twice this winter (and once several years ago) at the Robert Morris Inn in Oxford, and we've been delighted with each visit. This is NOT a hotel for those who want one that is contemporary, fashionable, luxurious, hi-tech, newly renovated, or filled with 21st century amenities. However, if what you want is an old-fashioned, European-style... More

Dear 60811Kate Many thanks for your generous comments following your stay at our historic Inn. We are blessed with a unique location right on the water in one of the last remaining unspoiled colonial Eastern Shore towns. With summer tourists departed the area takes on a special charm and peace through the winter and we put on a range of... More

January is not a good month to visit to a seashore town in Maryland because a lot of businesses and attractions would be closed in winter. But we decided to go to Oxford for a couple days to relax. And we achieved that goal. We arrived at Robert Morris Inn just in time to catch the afternoon tea. After driving... More

Dear Rydes Thank you for your kind and generous comments and we are delighted you enjoyed your experience with us. There is no question it is much quieter this time of year, tranquility descends upon the Eastern Shore as flocks of tourists leave for warmer climates. This in itself can be quite appealing. We continue to improve and enhance this... More

We stayed at the Inn in December .... Considering the Inn was built in1710 and has seen some restoration, there are more improvements to be made. With that said I had a wonderful stay. It rained most of the weekend and we spent a lot of time in the Inn. It was a great unwinding experience. The onsite restaurant is... More

We stayed in Oxford over the Thanksgivig holiday and had Thanksgiving dinner at the Robert Morris. The atmosphere was cozy, warm and the food was awesome I had beef tenerloin in a truffle sauce with a glass of red wine, my boyfriend had the traditional meal of ham and turkey, both meals had lots of flavor. We then went to... More

We have stayed here several times; in fact, I treated my husband’s high school friends to an overnight and dinner here for his birthday ten years ago. First the good: lovely old town (though nothing really to do), lots of water views, food was quite good. The inn is sorely in need of updating. Our room (15) had lots of... More

This was just the place I was looking for. Historic (built in 1710) and located on the water in the small town of Oxford. Very quite and restful stay. Food is excellent. The also has a tavern. Great location, the best in the small town of Oxford. outstanding food and service. Hotel needs renovation. Very small rooms, no amenities, like TV. Phones, Internet, AC. New owners taking over, hope the have deep pockets and are going to update this old historic facility. Try and get rooms 1 or 2 for the best view.

Dear Dalesid Thank you for visiting our historic Inn and really delighted that overall you enjoyed your visit. Our Inn is 305 years old this year and an Amercian icon with history and charm at every turn. It is very unlikely there will be televisions and telephones in our bedrooms as these rooms are original.
