January is not a good month to visit to a seashore town in Maryland because a lot of businesses and attractions would be closed in winter. But we decided to go to Oxford for a couple days to relax. And we achieved that goal. We arrived at Robert Morris Inn just in time to catch the afternoon tea. After driving... More

We stayed at the Inn in December .... Considering the Inn was built in1710 and has seen some restoration, there are more improvements to be made. With that said I had a wonderful stay. It rained most of the weekend and we spent a lot of time in the Inn. It was a great unwinding experience. The onsite restaurant is... More

We stayed in Oxford over the Thanksgivig holiday and had Thanksgiving dinner at the Robert Morris. The atmosphere was cozy, warm and the food was awesome I had beef tenerloin in a truffle sauce with a glass of red wine, my boyfriend had the traditional meal of ham and turkey, both meals had lots of flavor. We then went to... More

We have stayed here several times; in fact, I treated my husband’s high school friends to an overnight and dinner here for his birthday ten years ago. First the good: lovely old town (though nothing really to do), lots of water views, food was quite good. The inn is sorely in need of updating. Our room (15) had lots of... More

Thank you for visiting our Inn and for sharing your experience with fellow travellers. We are sorry for the shortcomings you found and you only made us aware of the reaidng light problem. The reading lamp was not rated for bulbs above 60watts, which we apologiesed for at the time. It would have been helpful if we had been made... More

This was just the place I was looking for. Historic (built in 1710) and located on the water in the small town of Oxford. Very quite and restful stay. Food is excellent. The also has a tavern. The rooms do not have tv and only has wifi on the first floor. But, like I said, this place was built in... More

Great location, the best in the small town of Oxford. outstanding food and service. Hotel needs renovation. Very small rooms, no amenities, like TV. Phones, Internet, AC. New owners taking over, hope the have deep pockets and are going to update this old historic facility. Try and get rooms 1 or 2 for the best view.

Dear Dalesid Thank you for visiting our historic Inn and really delighted that overall you enjoyed your visit. Our Inn is 305 years old this year and an Amercian icon with history and charm at every turn. It is very unlikely there will be televisions and telephones in our bedrooms as these rooms are original. To tear out their soul... More

Dear Andrea F Thank you for visiting our Inn and for sharing your thoughts. "this Inn should be torn down", seems a little unfair. It is the country's oldest Inn and through its more than 300years has played a central role in shaping this country, one way or another. We cannot deny the floors and walls are old but we... More

We took advantage of a Living Social deal to try out this inn and town and were very pleased with our stay. This hotel is historic, yet comfortable and relaxed. We stayed in one of the Admiral rooms which was quite large. The set up of the room was odd, but fit the historic setting. And unlike some of the... More

We booked the Robert Morris Inn after finding an on-line discount offer. We are avid bikers and decided to take a mini-vacation (three days) biking Talbot County in Maryland (great biking paths!). The location was excellent - right on the waterfront in Oxford, adjacent to the ferry. Oxford is an easy ride to Easton (county seat) and St. Michaels (quaint... More

Dear beardocnj Thank you for visiting our historic Inn and pleased that overall, you enjoyed your experience. As one imagine at 305 years old maintenance and restoration is ongoing. We continue to make improvements without changing the uniquely historic nature of our Inn. Whilst our town of Oxford is genteel and peaceful there is indeed so much to do in... More

The Inn dates to the 18th Century, and it's easy to imagine how happy you would be to arrive while traveling. Staff was very helpful. The rooms are surprisingly large, though the baths are small. The beds were period frames with mattresses a little firm for our taste. A/C is window units. Restaurant was top notch, both steaks and crab... More

Dear OldDukeDoc Many thanks for your kind words and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit to our Inn.
