American Flophouse: is a place that offers expensive lodging, generally by providing only minimal services. Couple this with the fact the Commander Hotel has no affiliation with the local BBB and a no refund policy, it supports the label of an American Flophouse. Very little available parking on the premises, worn out furniture and beds, and nappy carpet. Soap dispensers... More

One of my favorite hotels In OCMD. Stayed here a few times in the past and recently stayed there in the beginning of September 2011. Always clean and the staff is always professional. The location is great and not too far of a walk to the beginning of the boardwalk. Ocean front rooms are fantastic because the hotel is slanted... More

After a lot of research my wife and I decided on the Commander Hotel for our stay in Ocean City. Upon arrival the front desk adivsed us our ocean view room was unavailable and we had been upgraded to an ocean front at no additional charge. First thoughts of the hotel were good. The lobby is nothing spectacular but it... More

If not for the view I would give this hotel zero stars. First issue was the smell. Noticed it first in the hallways and when we entered the room we couldn't believe the stench. I have no idea what was causing it. We had to keep the door to the balcony open to air out the room. We complained on... More

Room is disappointing. Oceanfront suite, but with two full size beds. We would have preferred one king oe Queen bed. Free-standing clothes closet with no hangers. Two drawers for clothes storage. Small coffee pot. Small sink and counter top. Instead of nice bottles of shampoo and lotion, they have a big black soap dispenser hanging from shower wall! Same thing... More

Repeated stay at the Captain's Suite 560 – and our second review of it. As before, the overall experience is great. We went the day after the town opened back from hurricane Irene’s visit, and stayed over the Labor day weekend. The hotel staff were able to refund our nights we did not use, and the check-in and general service... More

I had a great time staying with my Fiance at the Commander. The most impressive part of the hotel was the wrap around balcony which allowed us to see the ocean and the bay at the same time! The front of the balcony has a lounger so you can lay and watch the ocean in the morning and the back... More

The entire experience was excellent from making the reservation to check-out. We have stayed here several times in recent years and have always been satisfied with the accomations, food at the grill, and the service. My wife and I especially like the convience of the Commander on the Boardwalk, because it is about in the middle of the boardwalk shops.... More

My family of 6 stayed at the Commander Hotel for 4 days. Stayed in an ocean front room on the 4th floor. Room was just what it stated online. 2 full size beds and one sofa bed with a balcony and small kitchenette. Air conditioner worked too well ("LOL"). It was nice leaving the balcony door open all night to... More

This was the only option for our family because we booked our trip late and we couldn't afford to spend thousands of dollars on a hotel room. We decided on renting a two bedroom, one bath apartment for the week. When we entered the building there was a strong order of Frebreeze. The rooms were a good size, but outdated.... More
