LakeStar Lodge is a great place to stay in deep creek. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable place for a great price. Highly recommended for those going to Wisp, but do not want to pay to stay at the resort. This place is just a short drive to the resort as well as surrounding restaurants... More

Spent 3 days at Deep Creek over Christmas week and stayed in this friendly Lodge - very nice room called the Queen Deluxe on the upper level came with a real fireplace and private balcony. The views were really amazing from the room, facing the Wisp Ski Slopes (especially at night when lit up) and backing to the lake. Room... More

Loved waking up to see the lake from the bed. The place was clean, quiet and staff was friendly. The rates were a bit high for the small room with a tiny bathroom. The lobby was closed during most of our stay. They should upgrade the beds but I've slept on worse. We had a nice flat screen TV but... More

Stayed this past Saturday night in a room with a fireplace. The "brick" was ultra tacky. The throw rugs covering the filthy carpet were gross. The bathroom was beyond tiny. It was sooo overpriced! I thought there was coffee in the morning but the door to the office was locked! On the plus side--the Deep Creek Lodge restaurant down the... More

What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said? It's a great place to stay if you are on a budget. I wanted to stay in the Premier room with the fireplace, but noooooo.... someone didn't want to go up and down the stairs! Still, it was nice to walk out on the porch and down to... More

Considering that we made this trip during the onslaught of tropical storm Lee, we had a great time. The Lakestar is pretty much as it is represented on the website...in the middle of Deep Creek with the lake in the "backyard." Our room was a bit cramped--if we go again would opt for one king instead of two queens...but had... More

Our overnight stay at the LakeStar Lodge was simple and pleasant. They offer modest accommodations at a reasonable price. While the rooms were small and the bathrooms teenier than tiny, they were clean and comfortable. Our view of the lake was the icing on the cupcake! A cool breeze off the water made it unnecessary to turn on the air... More

My husband and I stayed at the LakeStar Lodge, located at the top of Deep Creek Lake, in McHenry, Md. for several days in April. We received a great rate, due to it being "between seasons" of $99 per nite for a Queen Deluxe (2nd floor) room. The room was nice, with a fireplace (which we didn't need) and a... More

Stayed for an overnight while skiing at Wisp. Two girls and myself: brought in an Aerobed and were comfy-cozy: no comment on the 3 per room, nor any extra charge. Had a fireplace which was SO lovely and provided with a Duraflame log. Did make the whole room smell like a campfire which we liked so no bother. Small fridge,... More

Stopped here on our way from Annapolis to Ohio. Wanted to stay somewhere off the beaten path in a cool location. Deep Creek Lake is cool and there were some fun things to do in the area. Bob, the owner, was very helpful and friendly. He made sure we knew what to do and where to go. The room was... More
