So we went for a 3 day mid-week get a way just the two of us. To start the directions on the site skip a road so you end up driving way past where you need to be. There is no navigation available on your phones in the lake area. Once we called and got the real directions, there were... more

So we wanted to get away for the Easter weekend, and found that the Wisp would extend its Winter season until the Easter weekend - wheather permitting. We took the opportunity and book an extended weekend at the Wisp Resort hotel, hoping that we might catch a few hours of snow-fun while being there. Once we arrived, it was clear... more

Wisp is a wonderful weekend getaway, especially for those living in and around the DC Metro Area. The hotel was clean and comfortable, extremely convenient to the slopes (ski in/ski out), and offers great amenities. The standard queen room came equipped with a pull out sofa bed (in addition to the queen bed), microwave, frig, dining table, & desk. Our... more

I have been going to this resort during the winter skiing season every for the last 11 years. Like always my stay was wonderful. The rooms are very clean, modern and perfectly suit their purpose. The restaurants an bars offered premium service and food for a fair price. And there is nothing better to do than to go for a... more

My wife and I stayed at the Wisp resort recently for a long weekend. We made our reservations over the phone for two nights - but on Saturday morning (the day after our arrival) they asked us if we were checking out. We thought this was bizarre - they knew we had just arrived the previous night after a long... more

Where to start? We wanted to get away for a ski day and decided to try Wisp for a change. We wanted to have a fun day of skiing, enjoy a good dinner and have a few night caps to end our night (sounds pretty normal right?) We originally booked the Comfort Inn which is literally 500 feet from the... more

I have to say we were pleasantly surprised with the Wisp Resort Hotel. We stayed two nights in an efficiency room in the Lodge section (Queen bed and Queen Sleeper Sofa). This is the older section of the Resort but was surprisingly in good shape. They have done some work and are continuing to upgrade the entire Tower/Lodge area. The... more

This hotel was pretty terrible. The carpet looked like government office building carpet, the footboards are made of carpet. The beds do not have fitted sheets, so you get exposed to the matress when you sleep at night. The food in the restaurant was awful. I ordered tomato bisque soup. It was pureed tomatos with some parmesan cheese on top.... more

We stayed here over New Year's for 3 nights. Our goal was to give our kids their first taste of skiing, while taking lessons ourselves as we were both novice skiers. On a friend's advice we booked a suite in the tower (the new building). When we arrived we were given a room in the much older lodge (built in... more

They should really just tear this place down and start over. Wisp Resort Hotel is handicapped by many fatal design flaws: * nearly all rooms have a view of the parking lot and few have a view of the mtn. * after unloading your car, you have to drag your luggage up stairs to get to the dumpy lobby (It... more
