This place is a cross between staying in a prison and college dorm. The customer service is horrible ...the lady who checks you in is rude and not helpful. The food is a buffet (only one choice to eat) and you must eat your meal at a specific time or you don't eat. The rooms are dated and the bathrooms... More

This is a very good conference venue for conferences of up to 300 people. There are several conference rooms (large and small) and plenty of very good accommodation. A number of conferences can be held simultaneously. The rooms are very good and wireless internet service is excellent everywhere at the facility. The food is abundant and delicious. The provision of... More

Stayed as part of support staff for 2013 Inauguration. I admire the hotel portion here. It's not trying to be something it isn't. It's not the Ritz, it's temporary hotel-lodging for conference and studentts at the schools short term (month or so) courses. And it does it exceedingly well. Three night stay for me. I have never stayed in cleaner... More

The Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) is a school first and foremost, and the conference center supports that function. My guess is the schools surplus capability is used to provide space for conferences and their attendees. Because of this, the hotel portion will never rival places whose entire business centers around hotel stays and space rental. The... More

Thanks for being such great hosts to these WWII American Merchant Marine Veterans. Meals were beyond Outstanding. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. I was fortunate enough to have one of the two Pet Friendly rooms, for Beagle - Polly. Polly felt very welcome. Did I mention the meals were beyond Outstanding? Nice grounds to walk about; deer do... I recently stayed here on work and have come accustom to being put in the lowest standard of hotels but this place took the cake. The bathrooms are so small the doors rub the toilet seat leavings jagged edge and the toilet paper hangs on the back of the door. The shower took an actual five minutes to get hot.... More

My sister-in-law has lived near this place all her life and had no idea it existed. While little known and off the beaten path, this conference center provides a good value. The rooms are a decent size and very clean. The bathrooms are a little odd (toilet at an angle, no tub---only shower but a really large shower, no frills... More

Hotel: Drab, dark, depressing. In dire need of remodeling. Rooms are clean, but very institutional-looking and -feeling. Old, 1970s-looking closed circuit TV cameras throughout the hallways. Cafeteria: Hit and miss. Usually not but not great. Dining room is dark and sad.

The organization I work for uses this for conferences on a regular basis and I have come to really look forward to coming here. The rooms are comfortable, although the televisions are out of date. The food is excellent. I always eat more than I should--tasty and a good variety. The Institute runs a free shuttle to and from BWI... More

I was here for a work retreat. The corridors and bathrooms were a little dated but the beds looked clean, well-dressed and comfortable. I have hotel issues: I'm usually iffy about touching the floor with my bare feet, sitting on comforters, you get the picture. But that bed looked soooo good. As I leaned back to nestle into the pillows,... More
