Since I had read the reviews for rooms at this motel, I knew exactly what to expect. These rooms are smallish, but clean. There is dark paneling from the 50's and it looks as though the place was one of the old motor lodges. They advertise "free wireless internet", but my iPod Touch never picked up the signal. I never... more

We stayed at this hotel as part of a cycling tour. There are not many choices in Hancock. This is an old hotel and obviously has seen better times. However, it advertises a low rate of around $50-60 a night. The receptionist was very nice and tried her best to accommodate everyone. There was free coffee and candy in the... more

Nothing fancy, and everything is a little dated, but for the price it's a great place to stay. We were biking the towpath and they had a place for us to clean our bikes and gave us rags. Would definitely stay there again. more

Great place with great rates. Small rooms, but unique Nutty Pine wood panel walls. Clean and quiet. We had a very comfortable stay. If we are in the area, we would definetly stay again. Loved the staff. more

This used to be a great place, it was called the Hancock Motel, and was an immaculately kept mom and pop operation, and was older, but a great value and, clean. The owners retired, and it went way down hill, and is now a dive. more

This is my first experience with Best Value Inns. The property must be over 50+ years old. The walls are knotty pine and the furniture is old. The bathrooms have green tile. However, all that being said the room was clean. The shower actually had a lot of hot water pressure. The heat worked well. You can park at your... more

My husband and I stayed here many years ago. My husband lived in Berkeley Springs and was moving so we booked a room here on out last night out of town. I am under the impression that things have improved since we stayed there but I wanted to write our review anyway. The room was old, mildewy, damp and smelly.... more

We were taking the Western Maryland Scenic railroad and all the hotels in Cumberland were either booked or overpriced so we decided to stay in Hancock. The hotel consists of an old house which I think contains a few rooms plus a fifties style motel. You check in at the house. When we went into the room the first thing... more

I always stay at the Best Value Inn (formerly Hancock Motel) when I pass through this area and need overnight lodging. The property is a 1950's era motel on spacious grounds. Rooms are wonderfully nostalgic, with knotty pine panelling, rock maple furniture, and venetian blinds. There are still screen doors! The property is well-maintained, and rooms are spotlessly clean. The... more

The Best Value Inn was conveniently located near the C & O Canal. As through-bikers, we were looking for simple, clean accommodations. The motel was exactly what we wanted. The decor of the room was very outdated, but the bed was comfortable, the shower head was updated and there were nice ammenities such as a fridge and microwave. The woman... more
