Former stage coach stop along the old national road (Rt 40) in Grantsville, MD. The building looks much as it did before cars, electricity and certainly computers. The place has been in use as a hotel for my entire life (60+ years). It was never designed for high end, demanding tourists, but offers a glimpse of times long gone. You... More

Close enough to the ski mountain - and greatly cheaper. The mom and pop restaurant is also very good. You must have a cinnamon bun! The rooms are dated 'country style' but very clean. The hotel is hiding behind the historic house. If I take the girls back out I would choose to stay here again. A very nice 2... More

Whenever we stop through Grantsville, we always try to stop at the Casselman Inn. It is a family favorite. The historic inn has a lot of character, and in the winter always try to sit near the fireplace. A brief history is printed on the place mat. The food is traditional, but delicious, and the staff is wonderful and efficient.... More

We stayed in the motel portion of the hotel. Rooms are nice. They have a rustic feel to it. The surrounding area is nice. For the price and location its worth a stay. We would stay again if we were passing through.

I was on a bike ride on the GAP and several of us stayed at this motel since available lodging in Meyersdale PA was unavailable. The picture shown above in actually the building where the restaurant is located. The rooms were very clean and very quiet which suited us just fine.

Stayed in the motel portion. Large room, clean, comfortable, no frills. Nice for an overnite road stay. Would stay here again. Rate was reasonable. This is a beautiful and undeveloped part of Western Maryland.

I found this jewel quite by chance, I was travelling to another location nearby, and was I happy I found this place. The service was great, the staff was excellent, and the food in restaurant was second to no one. I WILL be returning to stay here in the future. his is my new place in the area. Well done... More

I stayed at the motel behind the Inn. What a lovely room. I especially enjoyed the rocking chair and the beautiful quilt on my bed. Very quaint, comfortable and affordable. I would definitely recommend.

We were in Deep Creek and wanted something not outrageously expensive for 1 night. Casselmans Inn is in Grantsville, only a 10-15 minute ride from McHenry and Oakland (Deep Creek). It was a very quick and easy commute. I've been to Casselmans before to eat in the restaurant, so wasn't the first time there. It's a great historical inn built... More

The motel behind the historic Inn is a great value. Nice clean rooms in a great location right on National Road US40. The inn has a great restaraunt. You can stay in the old Inn and the rooms are great but more expensive. It offers budget or luxury. Very nice people.
