My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights for his birthday and were sad to leave. If you like history and charm, great hospitality and food, then this is the place. The house was saved from being burned down by the British in 1812. It is a wonderful Georgian mansion atop a hill overlooking the Sassafras River. There is... More

Food is very good over all. Ordered crab salad and they forgot the crab. All worked out well, very accommodating and pleasant. Great views of marina. Very pleasant and great staff. Will definitely visit again when down that way.

Had a wonderful experience at this place. Good food, awesome views of the Sassafras River. Angie Rutherford and her team were very attentive to our needs. My wife (being a Vegetarian) had a special entree made for her. Highly recommended. Don't miss it!

Stayed here are the expense of friends so price is not our concern. Bedroom was nice and in autumn we put on the heater to be cosy too, Bed was the high point with a nice luxurious feel to the bedding too, with just the right intimacy of the roll-together that makes it more of a happy timewarp when compared... We stayed at the INN for a recent wedding. The staff, especially Sandy and Angie, were great. The food was incredible. Everyone at the wedding was very impressed. The rooms were spacios and clean although the water pressure and hot water supply could have been better. (Everyone at the plce must have been getting ready for the wedding at the... More

Kitty Knight House not only offers comfortable nights sleep and delicious gourmet breakfast but also a tangible history and charm. In this beautiful historic house we also found exceptional service, Sandy works so hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible, special thanks to her. We also enjoyed great food with stunning views and terrific sunsets over the Sassafras... More

When the British navy was carousing through the Chesapeake Bay during the War of 1812, they came up river here to burn the towns of Fredericktown and Georgetown. They came up the hill to this house, where Miss Kitty Knight came out and persuaded the sailors not to burn down her house. And the house remains to this day -... More

I was here for dinner with family and friends on a Tuesday night. They offered several $10 specials. Several of us had the prime rib, while I had the shrimp with grits and sausage. All our entrees were really good, and a steal at $10. The location is very attractive and the service friendly. This is a great place to... More

When we booked, we did not know that our fee included a dinner meal each night as well. This is a great value, especially given the quality of the dinners! We ate some of the best seafood dinners around and walked away with a tab for our cocktails only. The room was basic but very nicely decorated and clean. The... More
