Owner - Fabulous! Location - Perfect! Facilities - Clean! Showers - Fun! Trip- Awesome! We had a great time at this location. The owner is very accommodating and the campground is beautiful. The tree houses are clean. The showers are outdoors, which was kind of refreshing. The only issue we faced was the roads. The incline is very steep, making... More

Thanks for your very positive review. The rough patch of the road has been paved since your visit. (see pictures on facebook.) More

I was wonderfully surprised how clean and bugless the inside of the cottages were! Very cute and comfortable. Even the outdoor showers were kinda nice with the natural stone and cement look going on there.

Had a great time camping here. The owners are very friendly/helpful. The restroom is clean and the camp store is well stocked. The driveway was steep (we had no trouble in a honda accord), but maybe could have been a problem in bad weather.

Well, since you have been here I bit the bullet and paved the entrance to the camp, there is a 40 yard incline. There are pictures on Face book, linked to our web site. The rest of the road is quite flat, except for the roads up to the 4 four wheel drive only sites. (Wildebeest, Cougar, Badger, Otter). You... More

I visited the campground for the second time beginning on Memorial Day. I found this campground last year on the web and used it while visiting and hiking Harpers Ferry. I camp in a tent. I like the tent sites here because they are wooded and there is actually space between camp sites! So many tent sites in other campgrounds,... More

We just spent a lovely Memorial Day Weekend at the Maple Tree Campground. We had a large party of 80 (including adults and kids, and a few dogs). We were really worried that it would be too crowded, but it all worked out just fine. Folks were surprised to be able to take showers when they wanted, use the bathrooms,... More

First of all the owners are very nice people. They keep the place clean. That being said, if you have camped in State Parks, you probably will not like this place. First, the roads are not paved. They are muddy, rocky and steep. You need a monster truck to climb the muddy hills or you're car will break or get... More

Sorry to hear you had a less than perfect experience. We do have 4 sites, the Wildebeest, Cougar, Badger, and Otter that are 4 wheel drive access only. All wheel drive with a low wheel base is not good enough, and I will modify my web site to make that distinction. Thank you for the feed-back. Many people enjoy the... More

I had heard good things about this campground and with it being close to wineries, farms, and tubing, it seemed like the perfect memorial day weekend getaway. The campground was indeed very quaint and in a fantastic location, but the staff just put a damper on our experience. I felt the whole time they were just trying to scam us... More

Did you ever see that movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" with Kathy Bates? From 1988, ancient. Remember the scene in the parking lot when she finally learns to stand up for herself: "Tawanda!!" That is one of my favorite scenes of all time. Well, the Nuisance Fee is our "Tawanda." ' Avenger of wrongs.' It protects us from destructive people, dis-honest... More

The location is excellent as it is convenient to Harper's Ferry, the Appalachian Trail, and Antietam battlefield. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our treehouse was comfortable and cute; negatives were the dust and stinkbugs inside. The open-air bathhouses were well designed, although the bathhouse facilities were inadequate when the campground was busy (weekends). Improvements are needed for the roads... More

Hi, We actually put about $1,000 worth of gravel on the roads in early Spring, and the major flooding that happened about 6 weeks ago washed it into the field. We did, however scoop it out with a tractor and re-apply it. Road maintenance is routine, like mowing the grass. Many people navigate the country road without incident. It does... More

This was our second trip to Maple Tree Campground. Once again we had a wonderful experience. We can't say enough what a unique, well kept, family oriented place this is. We have two small children and again opted for a "tree cottage" which serves as a mini home away from home which is nice for those with young kids who... More

We stayed in the Hickory Treehouse over New Years weekend. After reading the owners advice on the website we packed appropriately and had a great time. The woodstove kept us toasty warm and we were able to cook our meals on top in a cast iron skillet. The owner was friendly and accomodating and was always available when we needed... More
