I've lived in the general area for years and have no idea why this place was undiscovered by us until now! It's wonderful!! We stayed here and had a lovely time. The ladies in the office were friendly and helpful, the cabin was cute, clean, comfortable, and snug; the bathrooms were warm and well maintained. We used sleeping bags on... More

This weekend we celebrated my son's 13th birthday at Maple Tree campground. My family and dog stayed on Friday night, and I returned with my son and 3 friends to stay Saturday night. We had a great experience in the Bonsai cabin. I have read most of the reviews, so I will preface by saying that we are avid campers,... More

We camped in the tent site farthest away from the offices. This is a very rough campground and very hilly hard to walk around on. Too many rocks everywhere. Our tents are kind of big but we did manage to find some flat area to set-up. The tent floor was not completely stretched out though. The weather was very hot... More

So sorry the weather was not the best for your camping trip. Every year, this area gets on average about 2- 3 heat waves that last roughly 4 days where the temperature can spike over 100 degrees, and, yes, camping in a heat wave is not ideal. The rest of the time it is comfortable and breezy. Unfortunately, we can't... More

I rented a tree cottage with my boyfriend and 2 friends in mid December. I will warn you that calling this a cottage is a BIG stretch; it has no electricity and no furniture besides a picnic table and bunk beds. That being said, if you go in knowing that this is what it is, you'll have a good time!... More

Absolutely stunning location for this campground. We drove to and from at the peak of fall color and I have to say it's probably the most scenic drive I've ever taken. Campgrounds themselves are nestled onto a hillside of the Appalachians with views of other hills/mountains all around. Nice tall canopy of trees throughout the campgrounds. And lots of activities... Thank you for kind words. We recently completed Fall maintenance of chimney sweeping, your stove probably needed a cleaning. Often a stove will smoke a little bit in the beginning, and then once the draft kicks in, they work pretty well. One trick is making sure the flues are open before opening the door to add more wood, each stove... More

We went for a friends wedding in early August and had the best time. It's an easy distance from DC and the campgrounds themselves are a great mixture of rustic and comfortable. The showers have great hot water and of course, it's beautiful! I highly suggest going with great friends and taking time for a float down the river in... More

We rented the entire campsite in early August 2013 for my son’s wedding from Friday to Sunday. This was quite an undertaking since the majority of the wedding party, including the bride and groom, lived in states that required at least a full day of travel to reach the D.C. area. The staff cooperated with us every step of the... More

We just got back & I am kicking myself for living an hour away & never going here before. We went here w a mix of friends, co workers etc & stayed 2 nights. Great location & unique camping. A little pricey that you pay per head instead of per site w max amt of tents. Would be a lot... More

Thanks for your review. Glad you found us. We purposely keep prices low because of the economy. We do charge per person, because that correlates to our costs of water, sewage and trash removal, paper, and wear and tear. However, a couple and/or 3 people can camp for 35.00 a night, which is not bad. I have had feed back... More

We just stayed in the Robin house this past weekend (group of 6 adults and 6 kids). It was a little cramped, but we like each other, and we were fine. The camp site was decent, the common bathrooms and showers were very appropriate, and the location was very convenient to hiking, tubing, and Harpers Ferry. The only downside is... More

This place was awesome, my expectations from reading the reviews did not disappoint. However I only have a couple of things I wish this place have. We brought our tent so we did not experience the cottages, however we may come back in the off season, since this place gets booked up. Things I loved about the place: -I love... More

Thank you for your feed back. Our neighborhood is working on trying to get some speed bumps on our road. It is a narrow country road, when 2 cars pass, one needs to pull over and they both need to slow down to pass. Most of the time people get this. It is a common sense thing. (If everyone had... More
