Stopped at the Lodge to see what it was all about this weekend. Awesome grounds and stayed for an excellent breakfast. I did not stay overnight but the hostess at the front desk showed me the facilities and told me about all the activities that go on at the lodge. The service at breakfast was excellent also. It looks like... More

This is my ummm, my 5th time to the Lodge. This time we wanted to step out of the normal cabin rental and try out a Yurt. We were in Yurt #7!! The whole concept is cool --- and as usual the inside of the Yurt was tastefully decorated, and the bed was super comfy! The comfy sheets make you... More

Brother and sister-in-law had their wedding here a few weeks ago and they did a fabulous job for them-- from the campfire complete with s'mores the night before, to the relaxing hike the morning of the festivities, to the delicious hors d'eouvres prior to the reception, to the sweet and accommodating staff… couldn't have asked for a better setting. A... More

My husband and I have been visiting Savage River Lodge for the past few years. We have gotten to know the awesome staff very well and absolutely adore the rustic atmosphere, amazing food, and laid-back lifestyle. The day after we were engaged this past December, we booked our wedding at SRL. We couldn't think of a more suitable location for... More

There is a main lodge, 18 rustic cabins and 8 yurts. The lodge has a very good restaurant. Do get the meatloaf. There is WiFi at the lodge only. My wife and I spent 2 nights in one of the yurts. The yurts are fabulous. Bright, with a skylight in the center. It's set up to open, though it was... More

We decided to have a destination elopement and stumbled on to the Savage River Lodge. It was everything we could have hoped for. They were very accommodating to our needs and made sure everything was just as planned for our special day and our stay at the lodge. The scenery was beautiful and peaceful, the food was amazing and the... More

My wife and kids gave me the "chef for a day" experience for my birthday. I spent the day with Exec. Chef Tylor and it was a fantastic day. Braised short ribs, gnocchi, lamb and roasted red pepper sausage ravioli, angel hair pasta with pesto sauce and a lemon chiffon cake. It was a full day, but something I will... More

I'm planning our next stay at Savage River and had to comment about our first visit. We stayed for the first time on Valentine's weekend and it was wonderful. It was lightly snowing in Baltimore and we arrived to 36 inches of powder snow on the ground up there. It was more like somewhere out West, and not like Maryland.... More

My husband and I recently stayed in cabin 3 for our anniversary. It was absolutely heavenly. We both wanted to stay longer! I have a difficult time relaxing and SRL allowed me to do that. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. They seem to really understand hospitality. The cabin from the exterior looks like a simple cabin. But everything... More

Stayed in cabin 9 with rocking chairs, comfy living room, fireplace, fridge, tea kettle, coffee pot all the fixings are there. Excellent shower and large bathroom. Bed was the bomb!!! Big loft and all gorgeous white linens. Ceiling fans, windows for cool breezes. So quiet and peaceful on porch, had wine and rocked. Walked the green trail, there are several... More
