This century hotel has been restored by the current owners to reflect Victorian era furnishings and pace of travel. The owners are collectors and display memorabilia depicting local history, business and family life, and a significant display ff Victorian era dolls and furniture. The hotel is located downtown on the main street and is quite and comfortable but does not... More

On a car-trip vacation to visit friends and family in various parts of the south Atlantic to the midwest, we reserved this hotel for one night during our travels. We prefer to stay in unique hotels, but have really high expectations for cleanliness. We arrived and immediately checked out the room - super clean! We could tell the property owners... More

Hotel was clean and staff was very pleasant. Upon check-in, the lady at the front desk noticed that my husband and I were travelling by motorcycle and offered to let us put the bike in the garage, instead of leaving it out in the open. The first night we declined the offer, but the second night Tropical Storm Bill was... More

one night booked last minute while passing through on road trip. Old feel to place, museum , old jail house, loads of historical items as well as stuffed animals behind glass, dolls and teddies, plastic flowers everywhere. Combination modern and old furniture. Rooms good size and where clean though, staff friendly. It did feel like step back in time. Breakfast... More

This hotel is indeed different. The rooms were small but clean. It would not take much to make the room more tidy in appearance. The thing that I wish I had known going in: 1. There are apartments here with only a few hotel rooms. Hotel rooms on 3rd floor and apartments on all floors with the exception of the... More

Able to reserve their last double queen on short notice. Greeting at front desk unusual, no "welcome to our..." or introduction from the gentleman. Entered from the rear parking lot and rear entrance which is the Lower Level museum. Acquainted ourselves with the directions on walls everywhere. Elevator present and useful, but at least one walk up and down the... More

This hotel is not for those liking McMotels. But for those who like things interesting and a bit different, this is it. It is an old historic building with lots of stuff to entertain. The woodwork is gorgeous, majestic staircase, real wooden doors, lots of bric-a-brac, old photos etc. There is a museum in the basement with all sorts or... More

I was there for my daughters graduation from Frostburg State. This hotel is beautiful. A step back in time but all modern conveniences. It put the frosting on our trip. I recommend this very highly. The staff was wonderful. The hotel spotless. It was full of nostalgia. I fell in love.

This is a great old hotel built in 1891 and lovingly restored to original. The entire facility was so clean and quiet and was a trip back in time. The staff was very knowledgeable about the hotel and very helpful with local information was well. We went there because of the pictures on travelocity and we are very glad we... More

WoW, this is an interesting place. The parking in back was scary close, but by morning was empty. The route into the hotel from the back was quiet interesting with all the showcases of dolls, plates, typewriters, a jail, a coal mine- OMG. Amazing history of stuff. The grand staircase in the lobby is gorgeous and you can imagine the... More
