Visited this place several times for Sunday brunch and can't say enough about the quality of the food and the value. My husband and I usually avoid any type of buffett meals as we usually find them inferior and loaded with the starches and veky little quality food. We live in a senior community that will travel to this place... More

My husband and I went for dinner on a weeknight.. The restaurant is in a historic building and the inside displays as much.. The spindle chairs are not very comfortable for dining. The dinner menu is mostly seafood with only a few other entrees that are not seafood. My husband got beef tips and each piece of meat was cooked... More

This restaurant has decent classic American meals. Crabcakes are done well, and I have never had a bad entree. However, it could really use some updating as the decor screams restaurant that your 80 yr old grandma will love, and the plating is terrible. Seriously, no one needs hot items placed on a bed of lettuce, lemon twists, and sprigs... More

My husband and I went to the Carriage house for dinner to celebrate our Anniversary. The hostess greeted us immediately and showed us to a nice table and gave us menus. A server promptly poured water, and our waitress was there soon to take our beverage order. Appetizers came soon after ordering and our entrees arrived in a timely fashion.... More

I've eaten at the Carriage House at least 20 times....probably more. We have relatives in the area and there is really no other decent place to eat. My family and I have enjoyed the Easter Buffet for at least 5 years in a row. I sure wish they would update the menu a bit by adding fresh sauteed veggies, maybe... More

A tradition for us to go to the carriage house at least once a year as a family group. We've never been disappointed. The food is above average, the service well done without being over attentive and the surroundings comfortable. What more can I say. We look forward to dinner, have never been disappointed and will be back.

As a child, I spend many happy years in Emmitsburg.. In the 60's and 70's the Carriage House was the only place to eat. Since then I guess management has changed, and so has their quality and presentation. They were exceptional with steaks and crab cakes, and crab imperial, not anymore. My last and final trip to The Carriage House... More

Carriage House is a wonderful old restaurant tucked away in the small town of Emmitsburg. It is located in a lovely historic building. Decor is basic, but the food is delicious. We had the crab imperial which did not disappoint. Service was quick and pleasant also. And if you are visiting Gettysburg, this place is only a dozen miles away... More

We were there for a family dinner, part of a group of a dozen. The wait staff was very good at handling a lively group, not always paying attention. The food was excellent. We have been to the Carriage House before on such occasions and they have never disappointed with the skill of wait staff or the quality food. Crab... More
