This place was absolutely wonderful. We were riding the GAP and expected to arrive early. Towner arranged for us to get into our room and store our bikes at mid-day. The house is cool everywhere inside - a relief on a 90+ degree day. There is a good wifi signal and a computer for use by guests. There were afternoon... More

Up to the 3rd floor (two big flights of stairs, not for those with bad knees) and surrounded by windows, we slept soundly in the Monk's room, a quiet get-away. The separate AC unit made our stay very comfortable. As it's under the eaves, be careful near the walls where headspace is limited (6'1" husband was at risk, and had... More

The Bruce House Inn was a luxurious stop-over midway between Georgetown and PGH - Pam was out of town - but her staff were attentive and helpful in settling us in. There were 8 of us and we took up most of the inn (with the exception of the Monk's Room). Everyone had a brilliant night's sleep. Pam was back... More

Everything at this B&B was immaculate. We stayed in a guest room on the first floor, which was warm and inviting. Comfy bed, nice linens, pretty bathroom. The Innkeeper made us feel right at home. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding with a western style omelet, muffin, fruit and yogurt, served in a lovely dining room. The historic downtown area... More

We were back in-town for a business meeting, and decided on staying at the Bruce House again. A good choice for comfort, helpful restaurant advice, lovely room, wonderful wine, cheese and crackers upon our arrival, and a great breakfast in the morning, prepared by Pam! This time we stayed in the new room, on the first floor--great if you don't... More

My wife and I stayed in the Columbia Bruce suite on the ground floor. This room is off the lobby and next to the dining room. It was clean and quiet. This is the newest suite in the inn. The bathroom has a large tiled shower with a rainfall shower head. The bed was comfortably firm and the room was... More

We were two couples cycling from Pittsburgh to D.C. Pam was there to greet us upon arrival and provided a safe/secure place for us to store/lock our bikes. Since we already had and early dinner in town, and were not planning to go out again that evening, Pam provided coffee, tea, wine, cheese and crackers, for us to nibble on... More

I didn't stay at the Bruce House Inn: I should be clear about that up front, but I found it online and made reservations for my wife, mother-in-law, and 1-year-old. They loved it. My wife much preferred it to other places we've stayed in Cumberland, so I'm pretty sure she'll want to stay there again. She reported that it was... More

We have now stayed in the Bruce House Inn twice. We have family in the area and it started out as a convenient place to stay when the "house" was full. Now, it is so much more to us and I think that we will always stay here even when there is room with the family. We have stayed in... More

What a wonderful little bed and breakfast. The breaskfast was oustanding! All fresh and delicious foods. Beautiful plate designs. The lobby is a cozy little tearoom with a fireplace. There is tea, coffee, and hot chocolate and cookies all throughout the day you can help yourself to. Pam the hostess was so very sweet. My bank screwed up the payments... More
