Our favorite place on our DC to Pittsburgh trip. You have the second floor mostly to yourself. Laundry on site was key too. Great place. Gail, the host, was wonderful too. Good food, lots of snacks. Bike was, storage and pump. Loved George's room! Actually met George too. Cumberland is at a bit of a crossroads with some new development... More

Skip the generic hotels convenient to the bike trails and make the short run to the Inn on Decatur. A small, two room B&B in an area of old homes. We had George's room - quite large with a queen + single bed. Huge bathroom with a big tub and all the "additives" for a nice soak!! Gail, the innkeeper... More

Gail is not only an accommodating and friendly hostess, she also is a bike tour operator and organized our recent trip from Pittsburgh to DC along the GAP and C&O trails. Four of us stayed with Gail on our night in Cumberland. Both rooms are large and very clean with comfortable beds, one with a huge bathroom en suite and... More

We loved this place, and Gail too! We were doing the GAP/C&O Trails. Gail also runs a bike tour company and was a great source for information. The room we stayed in was spacious and artfully decorated. There was a china cabinet in one corner that displayed 9 teapots in all different colors. Plenty of small tables and room to... More

The host, Gail, was very friendly, accommodating and generous. Every interaction with her was helpful and pleasant. The room was amazingly decorated and the bathroom was huge and well appointed. A safe place was provided below the house for our bicycles. My only recommendation is for conservation measures, such as CFL bulbs and recycling, to be considered. Thank you for... More

Clean, Quiet, Quaint, a Great Breakfast and Gayle couldn't have been a better host. Private off-street parking right out back. We'd visit again. The "George" room has an in-suite bathroom. You won't find a cleaner bathroom anywhere.

I love Gail's attention to detail, from magazines on cycling in our room to a comfy deck on the back with a view of the city and a delicious breakfast with leftovers to take on the trail, it was a great way to start our riding vacation. We also got turned around finding the inn, and Gail drove to where we... Most excellent service of any place ever. Gail, the owner, was simply wonderful and accommodating to our every need. We had just come off the bike trail after 75 miles and a hot shower was waiting for us, complete with 10 different types of shampoos and body washes. No nasty Trent hotel bar soap here! Also provided was use of... More

We were Quoted a rate of $122 for one nite for a room with a queen and and full. The tax was $17.08(14%) Total $139.09. We were charged 3% for using a credit card. This is the first time in my long career I have been charged for using a credit card for any hotel or b+b. Total for the... More

First and foremost I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and most was to your satisfaction. I agree that 14% tax is lofty. That includes state, county and hotel/motel tax. As for the 3% credit card fee since we only have two rooms it's hard to absorb such a fee and keep costs down. We do have our fees... More

Rather non-descript on the outside, but very nicely decorated on the inside using the innkeepers personal collection of period pieces and antiques. Very very clean ! This is very very important !! Gail the innkeeper maintains the property as if she were going to sleep in each room herself...imagine each spare roll of toilet paper individually wrapped in different decorated... More
