A long trip to the city by bus and train but the best option from what we could find. The camp ground itself is excellent. Many amenities (driving distance) nearby. The site itself has excellent facilities. Everything was very clean and tidy. The playground was excellent for kids. The showers/bathrooms were very clean every time we used them. The additional... This was my very first time camping - ever ! I had a blast. The restrooms and showers were super clean. The people that work there are friendly, knowledgeable and do a good job. The pools were clean and well kept. The first tent site that we were in was too small for our big tent ( it was just... More

We were here for my husbands work. We were going to get some flash hotel...but they all came with a 'flash' price tag. As my husband was working at Andrews air force base I wondered if this rv park was close....it took him 30 mins drive on the beltway. no issues....anything close to the AFB is not nice min $160pn.... Let me start by saying you will NEVER find a cleaner campground! This place was so well kept it blew us away. Our first stop was to checkin at the office which is also the main store/souvenir shop. The staff was very friendly and offered us not only the metro/bus schedules but also gave us every piece of info we... More

We enjoyed our stay at Cherry Hill Park, for the most part. It has a shuttle to the Metro that stops at a bus station inside the park. We are from out of state and never use public transportation. The attendant at the bus station acted as if we were stupid when we asked questions about the Metro. The park... More

Cherry Hill is the proto type for all RV parks! Spent a week there while touring and working in DC. Great staff, excellent accommodations and loaded with extra amenities. The Metro bus stops at the park. Staff provided information, maps and pass purchases on siite. Store, restaurant, laundry, RV supplies, gift shop and references for RV repairs when needed. Only... What a convenient and pleasant way to visit the museums and national monuments of DC! Very well-maintained and appointed campground and RV park. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights with our small travel trailer at a shady site just a stone's throw from the large covered pavilion where the city bus stops once very half hour to hour... More

Great park, two pools, well cared for RV spots. The office was very helpful with all the answers you have to any event or location. Very organized. A little pricey, but closest to DC. You can hear the traffic all night from the highways near by, but after doing the tourist thing all day, it does not last long before... More

Stayed in our pop-up four nights in June. Very clean and well managed. Offered two pools with lifeguards, outdoor movie every night, tractor rides around enormous park, mini golf for $1, cafe with hand dipped ice cream, computers with Internet plus free wifi. Grocery store is one mile away. Took us 10 minutes to drive to metro but they also... More

We stayed 5 nights in June 2012 while touring Washington DC. This campground has great access to public transportation (bus and Metro). The campground is clean, accessible, and has good amenities (cafe, laundry, pool, etc). Staff was helpful. Overall, a thumbs-up experience.
