Decided to get away from it all and recently stayed for a long weekend with our dog. All made to feel welcome in this lovely pub in the quintessentially english village of Hambleden. Nice quiet location, spotlessly clean room, excellent food and plenty of scenic walks right on your doorstep. What's not to like!

We fell upon this lovely pub with accommodation on the way back from London after collecting a car. We booked at short notice, and were lucky to secure the "Black Bush" room (named after a drive at the local hunting estate). Parking was easy in an adjoining public car park looking over the village cricket ground. We had an extremely... More

This is the real good looking old country pub in a small village with a friendly welcome. We checked in hours earlier than arranged but the room was ready and were shown to the room, The room has all you can require and a suitable bathroom. We were looking forward to the afternoon visit to the Chiltern winery tour. But due to a meal... We had a lovely lunch here - the service was attentive and the food and drink was excellent. Suggest it is well worth booking (even for a mid-week lunch time) as the pub can be very popular - there were about 20 walkers eating lunch in the garden when we visited and this could have affected the service, but they... We had been given a voucher for the winery and brewery as a Christmas present and realised that we would probably need to stay overnight if we were to enjoy the sampling without worrying about driving. We were delighted we chose this pub in the village of Hambledon. It is very friendly, has great food and a lovely old-fashioned feel... More

Hambleden is one of those places you can visit over and over again. And so is the Stag & Huntsman. The village lies dormant between the fields, as you discover this B&B at the end of the road. Superbly! After a walk in the countryside, you can have a drink in the bar or outside at the inner courtyard. Your... More

We came across this beautiful country pub as were were in the area staying at Heney upon Thmes cycling in th area. We did a 18 mile circular route from Henley on Thames, which took us through some very pretty villages.( Stonor Assendon Pishilll Fingest Skirmett Turville ) We decided to stop for lunch at the stag and Huntsman Hambleden.... A beautiful pub and hotel in a gorgeous quaint village. The pub/dining room is lovely, the food is really good (really big portions and very tasty!) and the staff are friendly and helpful. We booked a standard room which was quite small but perfect for what we wanted - and really well decorated/equipped. The bed was soooo comfortable! There are... More

We are very satisfied about our stay at the Stag and Huntsman. The village of Hambleden is gorgeous. The Stag and Huntsman is a very romantic place. Great service starting from the phone booking to bar and restaurant. We had a beautiful room (room 8), spacious, very well decorated , large and comfortable bed with different pillows and a large... We rolled into the Stag & Huntsman after travelling for some 26 hours from Australia, looking bedraggled. The staff at the Stag were so welcoming and understanding. We had a lovely, comfortable room and a great dinner. This is a beautiful pub in gorgeous village. I cannot recommend it highly enough. We stayed for two nights - comfortable, luxurious beds,...
