Stayed here based on the really good reviews it received. Maybe my expectation was too high but it was not what I expected. Firstly it was not easy to find, but also not particularly comfortable. The food was ok but not special, the breakfast average and the tables that had been used were not cleaned so when we arrived there... More

Stayed here on a whim. What an amazing find. It is quirky, quaint but so full of character. The staff were so friendly from the moment we arrived. The food was fab and well priced. However the star was the room itself. It was beautifully decorated, so much space and the rolltop bath was out of this world. So upset... More

I was happy with this establishment from the moment I booked - they were very accommodating about twin beds, vegetarian diets, early check-in and the need to come back in very late one evening. The room was very comfortable and full of character - the village itself is quaint and I expected to see hobbits walking around. Staff were exceptionally... More

We returned to the area the after moving away i in 1988 it is still a simply wonderful place food excellent room perfect and luxuriousand staff wonderful helpful and attentive. The refurbishment has been carried out with flair and sympathetically given the age of the building a really fantastic nights stay we will return very soon

I know its unusual to write a review for somewhere you haven't stayed yet, but felt I had to praise this hotel for the way they sensitively and compassionately handled my recent late cancellation. We look forward to staying there in the near future, and am sure it will be lovely.

This was good value and very comfortable. The proprietor offered us an upgrade and we were given a better room at no extra cost. The only grumble was the noisy plumbing from the adjacent room and the hum of the extractor fan. The big bathroom was beautifully equipped with a roll top bath and his and hers sinks but the... More

We stayed here for two nights and just loved the stunning rooms, the food, the staff and the surrounding area. The rooms have been recently refurbished to a very high standard by someone with a real flair for interior design. Staff were just amazing and went completely out of their way to help us out. Village is quintessential England and... More

Travelling to the area and leaving booking to the last minute, we were impressed that the Stag and Huntsman were able to fit us in for that evening. The car park is large and there is ample, parking. It was a busy midweek summer's evening and it took a little time to get served, but nothing unexpected in a popular... More

This pub's accommodation was overpriced and over rated. Depends on your reason for being in the area but it is fairly isolated. On arrival I was shown to my room accessed by a very narrow and steep staircase. Had to ask the young gentleman to help carry my bag! Dodgy staircase. I was staying there on business and needed a... This inn offers one a chance to stay in a picture-perfect (literally, many movies and TV shows have been filmed here) village within easy access to Heathrow - an wonderful alternative to staying near the airport as long as one has a car and one's flight is not leaving first thing in the am. The bedrooms have been updated and... More
