My husband and I had such an enjoyable weekend at the imperial hotel. My brother and his wife have frequented this place for the past several years and have told us about the superior hospitality they had received. Everyone from the management (Joe and his wife) to the bar tender to the servers and housekeeping could not have been more... More

We were in town for the Downrigging weekend & Tall Ships. When we booked only one night was available. We asked to be wait listed for Saturday and received a call the week prior to say a room was available . It was my birthday so I was so pleased to have a lovely room, quiet and central to everything... More

The husband and wife owners of this establishment have absolutely no concept of customer service. Despite several red flags (changes in promised amenities, uneveness in the quality of menu offerings, errors in pricing in a late arriving contract, service items omitted from the next version of the contract) while planning a wedding dinner for 35, my sister decided to stay... This is a cute little town with an excellent gallery and bakery across from this hotel. But the hotel has definitely seen better days. The rooms are tiny and poorly equipped, and while it is trying to be quaint is is just plain worn. In addition the owner is a hot-headed person who apparently knows nothing about customer relations-- he... More

Very good food - TERRIFIC service - attractive, in that order, but that's the order that matters to me - Food, then service, and I really could care less beyond that, but The Imperial Hotel is very attractive and the tables are NOT on top of one another. Next time I'm in Chestertown, I will DEFINITELY eat at The Imperial... More

Lovely small quaint town hotel with outstanding food and service. Best happy hour ever!! And in great location. The staff was exceptionally nice. Lovely decks to sit out on and watch the town go by and within easy walking distance of the water and all the local attractions. Can't wait to go again.

Lovely rooms, excellent food. The place has a great atmosphere and location. The management team seems to be working very hard to sponsor various specials. We went on a St. Valentine's Day deal. I like the room's older furniture and a general casual elegance that implies they are not uptight about a little wear when things are very nice and... More

Stayed here during a wedding weekend in Chestertown. Great proximity to shops and restaurants. Rooms were a bit dated, but acceptable. Parking on street wasn't a problem. Very friendly check in, you had a sense of comfort knowing you were part of a small town B+B type hotel. If traveling with children, the rooms might be too small to fit... More

The Imperial Hotel has a great in-town location close to shops, restaurants, historic buildings and the Chester River. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The restaurant and public spaces are spotless but seem dated and worn. The place needs a renovation and update....maybe a restoration would be more appropriate so as not to lose the patina of the 1900's-30's. Whatever... More

The good: comfortable bed. Killer location. Good idea to give a $6 credit for breakfast (the cost of a continental breakfast) that can be applied to any menu item. Breakfast was excellent. Sausage appeared to be made by hand (and was good). The greens served with the quiche were absolutely delicious. Coffee was good. Saw the dinner being served the... More
