We had the best time, taking advantage of a last minute cancellation, to spend a night at this charming B&B. We had the upstairs bedroom with private bath, canopy bed (very comfortable), modern en suite bathroom. Wonderful breakfast with the host, Ed, and his lovely mother, Alicia. Great location, wonderful hospitality! Great value for the money.

I arrived in the early evening and the host was most helpful in giving me an orientation of the places to eat, and also sharing some fascinating history about the house. My room was lovely and my only regret is that my trip was too short. Just oozing warmth and charm, with lovely and charming hosts - you will be... More

This B&B in the quaint town of Chesapeake City was absolutely charming. Owners were very friendly and shared some wonderful stories. The breakfast was awesome but even enjoyed relaxing on the front porch. I definitely would recommend for a getaway.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay with Susan and Edward!! They were a wealth of knowledge about the area, things to do with children, and provided excellent tea, sundaes, and great genuine hospitality! We would definitely stay here again in the future! What a nice getaway for us! :-)

I have to start off by saying Ed and Susan (our hosts) went above and beyond to make our stay the most enjoyable we have ever experienced. We stayed in the Commodore Room and it was absolutely lovely. The bed and linens were extremely comfortable and the charm of our room was incredible. The food was delicious and Ed, Susan,... More

What a fantastic room in Chesapeake City! All I can say is it was so much more than I ever would have suspected. We will be returning as soon as possible. The Captain, his beautiful and sweet wife, Suzan, and beyond interesting mother, Alicia, are absolutely the most gracious hosts you will ever find. The comfort of the room was... More

We travelled by jet skis with our family of five. Susanne, Ed, and Alicia quickly made us feel like family as they showed us to our wonderful rooms in this beautifully decorated historic home. We received wonderful tours and stories from our hosts who could not have been more accommodating. Everything was superb, including the breakfast and selections of sundaes... More

I love this place and love the people that own it even more. It was truly like staying with family, and they've had so many great adventures in their lives it was a true pleasure to hang out and hear their stories. The room was great, and the attention and service was just right. Breakfast was fantastic! This is officially... More

Chesapeake City is one of those places you hear about by word of mouth. A wonderful place to visit...people are so friendly...you don't have to lock your doors...you get the idea. It's a pretty jewel nestled on the Chesapeake Bay filled with shops and places to eat. Comfortable, picturesque...a wonderful place to spend some time. We stayed at Doc Smithers... More

Nestled on Bohemia Avenue in quaint Chesapeake City, MD, Doc Smithers, though a small B&B should not be overlooked. Aside from the comfortable bed, clean and modern en suite bathroom, beautiful decor, and the sitting room with a HUGE flat screen TV, what truly makes a stay at Doc Smithers is the proprietors, Suzan and Ed Schweizer. This couple, and... More
