Even if the Inn didn't face the canal, it would be an outstanding place to stay. While one of the oldest buildings in Chesapeake City, it is clean and up to date. Our hostess, Rene was gracious, welcoming, helpful, and a great cook, too. As others have said, all the rooms face the canal - the 3rd busiest in the... More

We loved our room on the third floor. The view was amazing, especially as the BIG ships passed. Breakfast was a good start for our day. Snacks and soft drinks an added bonus. We stayed in April so the town was quiet but lovely. We would return and recommend to others.

What a lovely place. The staff was wonderful. Our room was so sweet and comfortable with a view of the water from our balcony. Beverages and fresh baked goods available to the guests. We walked into the charming town for a great dinner. We had our morning coffee in the outdoor hot tub by the canal. Such a relaxing visit-... More

This is THE place to stay in Chesapeake City. Since every room faces the canal, there's nothing better than sitting on the porch, rocking and watching the ships on the canal. The room was clean and comfortable, and Renee, the innkeeper, went out of her way to make us feel at home. Fresh baked cookies and cake were set out... More

Once again we have visited the Ship Watch Inn and had a wonderful time. The views are magnificent, staff friendly, lodgings comfortable and breakfast was terrific. One of the advantages of staying here aside from what I previously mentioned is the proximity of the Inn to the rest of the town. Once we arrive we park the car and don't... More

Stayed one night at this charming B & B. Wound up getting snowed in, but the accommodations were so nice, we didn't mind staying in the room all evening. We stayed in the Chesapeake suite, which was beautiful and spacious. Breakfast in the morning was Eggs Benedict with crabmeat, and was very good. There was coffee and tea available all... More

Great place for a quiet and relaxing weekend. Easy access to local shops and dining. Staff are kind and helpful. A stroll through town is a must, but be sure to take some time to enjoy the deck and the beautiful views.

This is a great bed and breakfast. The staff members were friendly and welcoming. The accommodations were exactly as described. The canal and bridge views were impressive. We were in town for a wedding and this was a perfect place to stay.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Shipwatch Inn, again. After an intense Holiday season, it's the perfect place to kick back and recharge. The service is always first-rate, the breakfasts are excellent and the views unsurpassed. Highly recommend.

What connects The Chesapeake Bay with The Delaware Bay.......Or what body of water connects Baltimore with Philadelphia/Wilmington? The answer is a thirty mile long canal (third busiest in the World!) appropriately named the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal: Panama, Suez, and The C & D Canal. Along this canal and very close to the Delaware state line lies the beautiful, little,... More
