If you are going to Bethesda Md. book early or expect to pay. The bargain prices of the American Inn lured me in but boy was i disappointed with what $175 a night gets you. I think a 2+ star rating fits this property. The hotel is a good value for the neighborhood. Given the options of the $200+ per night hotels in the area, at $105 per night, this was a good deal. Spent several nights here when daughter was at NIH. The room was small but adequate, the continental breakfast good, and coffee & cookies 3-6 for "tea".
