We recently attended a family wedding at the YHI and while many things were well done we will never return due to the completely appalling behavior of the "owner" who made erroneous accusations of our family. The wedding was held at the inn, we had rented the entire Harbor Crest building and additional rooms for other guests, and were having... more

The rooms where old and small. I was lead to believe there was an ocean view when in fact there are "peaks". You can barely see the ocean and it wouldn't matter in any case as the service and value are so sobering. I feel cheated and taken advantage of. Visit the resturant and sleep elsewhere more

Our Inn has three categories of rooms starting with our most modest, least expensive which don’t have views, progressing to our luxury rooms that are the most expensive and offer amenities including ocean views and fireplaces . Four out of five of our buildings are historic and offer period details and charm, all have been redecorated and updated to modern...

the pub we had dinner in was quite lovely..the service was good..food was good but really lacked flavor...the bill was $72.00 we left $14.00 tip.when we got home the next day we checked our bank account online. they had charged a added on another 15%..so we called them and they asked did i leave a tip ,which to me is... more

We would just like to make clear that we don't charge an additional gratuity to our guests. As with most restaurant systems our restaurant point of sale system authorizes the credit card for an additional 15% at time of swipe, but the card will be settled for the amount the cardholder signs for. This is only a temporary hold and...

Recommend you check out the YHI if you are passing through during the week - got an excellent rate on a room and the location, the pub, and the restaurant make it worth the stay more

I showed up on a whim to check this place out as a possible wedding reception and the staff was so nice and accomodating. One woman gave me a tour, answered my questions, and let me know I was free to walk around if I wanted to get more of a sense of things. The positive, welcoming attitude of the... more

We have visited this area many times over the years as we have family here. I had always wanted to stay here as we've had many wonderful dinners in the restaurant and pub. Since the family's house was quite busy this year, this seemed like a good opportunity to try out the rooms. Quick summary: We'd be happy to go... more

Visited York mid July for four nights with my wife and 9 y/o son for a short beach get-a-way. I had read that some of the rooms were on the small side so I booked an upgraded (larger) Yorkshire room. I was told when I booked that these rooms are typically not in the main building, but that the particular... more

My husband and I spent one night at this inn at the tail end of a business trip, and overall we had a great experience. We were considering a few options and e-mailed the manager asking questions, and within a couple of hours we had a response with a recommended room, a last-minute discounted price, and an offer to make... more

The location is great if you have children. Quiet at night and located directly across the street from a public beach which makes bathroom breaks easy. It's also a short ride to Long Sands or Short Sands, both public beaches. Emily and Paul greeted us at the front desk and were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room had a queen bed... more

My wife and I got away for the July 4th weekend. To get the "oceanview" and a deck we settled for a room with a full size bed, instead of one with a king size bed, jacuzzi and fireplace. When we got into the room we were quite disappointed. You could barely see cove with all of the trees in... more
