Just got back from a 2 night stay here. Everything was beyond our expectations. The hosts were great and there when you needed them offering advice on places to go, maps, tea, coffee and snacks, and a great breakfast, But gave you your space to sit in relax in one of their wonderful sitting areas or just do whatever you wanted.... I absolutely loved staying here. The owners, Andy and Sue, made our experience wonderful. I proposed during this stay, and they played along with my proposal "backstory" so my fiancee would be suprised. They really went out of their way to make sure that we well cared for. And the breakfast.....ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! If you are in the southern part of... More

My wife and I were in the NY/NJ area attending 2 family weddings that were 2 weeks apart. We decided to have our own little getaway in-between, and drive up to Vermont and Maine. This place was where we spent three of those nights. I had never been to Maine before, but my wife had stayed here about five years... More

The uber-rich of Victorian-era America spent their summers at Newport, RI, while the not-quite-Vanderbilts built their "cottages" at York Harbor. The Inn at Tanglewood Hall is just such a cottage: opulent, spacious, yet understated. It retains its Victorian charm while providing all the amenities we need in this modern age. It's easy to relax in any of the several common... More

After staying at many AirBnBs, my boyfriend and I didn't realize what a true bed and breakfast experience could be. Andy and Su were as hospitable as they come, and we had a fabulous stay with them at Tanglewood in January. Andy was especially helpful at orienting us to York, going over a map and sharing recommendations for dinner, what... More

The Inn at Tanglewood was absolutely amazing! Su and Andy are so inviting and wonderful! The food, the room, the gorgeous property, and so close top the beach you can smell it. We were so impressed with everything we want to return very soon! Our wedding was supported and our honeymoon magical!!

We stayed at the Inn at Tanglewood Hall Oct 9 - 12, 2014. Our room was very nice and clean. We arrived late in the evening, and even though check-in is normally between 3 - 6 pm, the owners, Andy & Su made arrangements for us to pick up our keys in a secure location. However, when we pulled-up at... More

We've stayed in numerous BB's and this was a fantastic example of a New England house, NE hospitality and a beautiful fall retreat. We had pretty low expectations because the last B&B we stayed in was a 5-star traditional English B&B in Chatham, Ma. However, we were pleasantly surprised and pleased. Beautiful grounds with neat nighttime lighting...the porch is fantastic... More

We chose this B&B based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews and we were quite disappointed as the reviews did not really match our experience AT ALL. The negative energy that Su portrayed during every conversation was overwhelming and Andy did his best to offset this horrible energy that Su oozed, but it was not enough to counteract it. We stayed... More

We thank the reviewer for citing our overwhelmingly positive reviews written by guests who are not offended by our clearly written policies. This review was written by a guest who ignored our published policy re not accepting children under 12. He and his wife arrived with their unexpected 18 month-old daughter for a fully-booked Columbus Day Friday reservation. Su restated... More

My daughter and I recently spent a night at the Inn during a short visit to New England, and this was the favorite B&B of our tour. The inn and its grounds are charming inside and out. Su and Andy made us feel most welcome and offered coastal walking and driving suggestions nicely tailored to our very short stay. Breakfast... More
