I see from other reviews a few others had a similar experience with this individual (see the toilet paper caper, and the radiator white smoke). In our instance: we asked, as we always do, to have a look at the room before agreeing to take it. The woman behind the counter was outraged...outraged by this request. "No one has EVER... More

While alongside main road, no road noise heard at night. Staff helpful when asked for information. Room and grounds and office were very clean. Room was a bit worn but safe and sound. Used as base for day trips to Lobster Festival in Rockland and then next day to Boothbay area. Good coffee and simple but filling breakfast supplied.

Made reservations ahead based on location and rates, but was extremely surprized! Nice and clean comfortable and very reasonable! A nice Maine experience that you won't get at a chain hotel. Office was helpful in directions and information too! I will stay there again! There is a grocery store just down the road and within a few miles is the... More

That title is not meant as a negative, we payed a reasonable price for Maine during the summer and we got a nice clean room that has been very well cared for. Bed was comfortable, bathroom very adequate and the coffee and toast in the morning fit the bill. Not far outside of town so location was good too.

After we turned on the air conditioner (no windows with screens to open), the place smelled like skunk. The owner came to the room and said there was no smell. The woman became very upset and said she would refund our money. We said we just wanted another room. She became very agitated. She kept insisting that there was no... More

Pleasantly surprised. We were looking for a place to stay for a few nights to join our family at a local camp ground. I'm not a camper so I was looking for something close by and comfortable. Their pricing allowed us to add another night on to our stay. We loved the fact that we could park right in front... More

Nothing fancy, but clean beds, clean rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast the next morning was a bonus. Owners were friendly and helpful. Location is great as we were taking the ferry the next day from New Harbor to Monhegan. I will return when I'm in this area again.

The Wiscasset Motor lodge is exactly what previous reviews stated. It is clean, looked to be mostly recently remodeled. The owners were friendly, helpful and accommodated a change to our travel plans willingly. Breakfast was an unexpected bonus. The only reason I gave 4/5 instead of 5/5 was the location was a bit noisy (relative to the main road) for... More

Compared to many of the lodging alternatives up and down the Maine coast, the Wiscasset Motor Lodge offers real value for the money. The rooms are clean, quiet and offer the basic amenities. The owners live on site. The care and attention they give to their place is noticeable. We will return whenever we’re in the area.
