I'm told that the Copper Heron has many return visitors and I believe it. Anyone who frequents bed and breakfasts knows that there are three key components: the room, the breakfast and the hostess. Those used to the finest accommodations may be put off a bit by the CH's 'sidewalk appeal': it's on the main street of Unity with all... More

and not because it's the only B & B in town , but because it's simply delightful. Clean , and comfy, bright and sunny ! Breakfast is simply devine ! Fresh pancakes , or if you are lucky like we were homemade baked oatmeal { yes baked } , delicious ! We visited in dead of winter and just loved... More

My husband, daughter and I stayed in the family room at the Copper Heron for several nights. We were last minute visitors due to an unexpected death in our family. It was the dead of winter (blizzard Juno?) and we needed something quick. The price was right considering the proximity to the funeral and the breakfast. But not just that,... More

I was in the Copper Heron for four nights while visiting friends in the area. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was first rate. Diana Avella was a fine host who gave me some first rate ideas on places to see in the area. She cooked the meals, and each morning was something new. Eggs with fresh... More

My husband, daughter and I stayed three nights in Diana's Bed and Breakfast. We went up to Maine from New Jersey to visit my husband's brother in Freedom. The location was great for us, very near our destination. We stayed in the attic room, very quaint and comfortable, with a window seat facing the garden. We had the most delicious... More

We stayed at the Copper Heron when my daughter went to visit Unity College. It is a great way to visit the College as it is close enough to walk. Much better than staying all the way in Waterville. We stayed three nights to attend both a Saturday open house and Monday classes. Our room was on the second floor... More

Good friends of ours raved about The Copper Heron after their visit last spring, so my husband and I decided to plan a short stay on our recent trip to Maine. They said the delicious breakfast was worth the trip, and they were right about that, but the inn has much more to make it a pleasant visit. Our room... More

I have stayed at the Copper Heron at least once a year for the past 5 years, and have loved it each time. Innkeeper Diana Avella has been helpful about things to do and see in Maine (whatever the season), providing delicious breakfasts for my vegetarian self (and a fantastic, home made dinner we arranged and discussed ahead of time).... My husband and I stayed here in August 2011 and hated it. The woman who owns it was nasty...she is totally in the wrong line of work. We left before she served breakfast after she jumped down my throat when I went looking for coffee at 7AM. Our room was filthy and she was in the room adjacent to us... More
