A bit out of the way - but that was our purpose. The owners / inn keepers make you feel quite welcome. We reserved late and on July 4th time, so had a room in the second building across the lot from the mail building, but it was very clean and quiet. The breakfasts (included), and dinners (separate) were outstanding.... More

My husband and I booked a night at the Inn for this coming September. We really preferred to stay at a place with an on-site restaurant. There were some changes to the summer schedule at Craignair and they so happened to be off the night we were planning our stay. (We get it, everyone deserves a night off. :) )... More

Michael and Joanne, the proprietors of this lovely inn, are funny, smart, and so very welcoming. Their dog, Mimi, a small catlike canine who doesn't bark at all, was a huge bonus. (She's hypoallergenic, a Jack Russell/poodle cross, about 10 pounds of love.)The rooms are plain, but comfortable, clean, inviting, and nicely turned out. The food was excellent--we had the... More

Thank you for staying with us this past weekend. It's almost shameful we had to warm up with a fire in the living room when we're nearly into June, but it did feel nice!! Such is Maine! Glad MiMi was a hit--she just loves everyone! We're looking forward to your return--send me a reminder when you make your next reservation... More

We spent one night just to get away from home and relax. We hadn't been there in some time, but it was as relaxing and beautiful as ever. The hosts were perfect -- warm, friendly and not obtrusive. Dog was a hit with my wife -- well, and me too, actually. We also had dinner, and the meal was better... More

Thank you for joining us recently! MiMi, our resident jack-a-poo does her best to make everyone feel welcome! We're so glad you felt at home and enjoyed your dinner! The weekend you stayed was our opening weekend for the season and we're thrilled to have our chef back with us this year. Thanks again! More

The type of experience that I want when I travel should transport me from the ordinary to the magical. I want to feel something special ... almost "other worldly." The Craignair Inn offers this experience as it's located in a very tiny sleepy coastal Maine village in a spectacular setting with ocean, island, native flora and fauna. It's close to... More

My group came to the Craignair inn to hold a daylong training for 30+ people. I'll admit at first we were looking at the Samoset as a location but due to a full date up there we settled on the Craignair as our backup plan. To say that I'm glad we did would be the understatement of the decade. The... More

WOW!! You just made my whole week!! Thank you so much! We love hosting groups like this and yours was such a pleasure to work with. Glad to receive such nice feedback from everyone. Our dining area comfortably seats up to 50 people and setting up the projector and having speakers seemed to work out great. I'm off to tell... More

Winters in Maine are reputed to be long and dark. For those who care to look around, there are actually lots of things to do and places to go during the colder months. One of our favorites, starting in January, is the Craignair Inn for Burger Night on Friday nights! The restaurant is open on Friday nights and only serves... More

How fun that our Friday Night Burger Nights are getting famous!! Thank you so much for writing this. When we bought the Inn 4 years ago we held many fundraiser-type dinners. The Burger Night has been the most popular and we're proud to say we've raised thousands of dollars for local organizations...this year a dollar of every burger goes to... More

I loved this inn so very much. The room was clean and and had a beautiful view. The night sky was so epic and gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious and the service was super. It was such a great location to so many fun activities around the area. The only thing I would suggest (sorry!) is to update the decor a... More

We stayed at the Craignair during the first weekend of October, and I am still lingering over the memories! We had a room in the main building, with a view of the ocean. Waking up our first morning to the sunrise over the water was one of my favorite moments! Everything about the inn was charming and friendly...the food was... More

We were part of a wedding party, many of whom stayed here for several days. We were initially apprehensive because we had never stayed at a B & B or an "inn" before this event. Joanne warmly greeted us when we arrived and gave us the layout of the land and some suggested activities during our stay. Our room was... More
