We have stayed here two summers now and loved it both times. The rooms are so cute and very comfortable. The hosts are super friendly and welcoming. Our son talks about Mimi, their dog, all year long until he gets to see her again. We will definitely visit again next year!

We stay here once or twice a year and have done so for over twenty years. Joanne and Michael are the current owners and they've improved the place every year, a ton of work and love invested. The Inn isn't perfect, but close. It may perhaps be perfect when you factor in the setting. Clark Island is off the beaten... More

I spent 3 nights here, and found the hosts to be warm, knowledgeable and welcoming. The food was great, and the location allows for both a quiet sojourn and a basis for exploring the marvelous midcoast area from Pemaquid to Rockport and beyond. Unreservedly recommended.

We spent 2 wonderful days and nights at this charming, stunning, relaxed and friendly Hotel. The location is stunning with views of the Atlantic, causeway and islands. Joanne and Michael are perfect hosts, relaxed, informal and helpful. Michael's breakfasts are superb! We enjoyed a fabulous meal in the Restaurant on our second night. The service was excellent! I strongly recommend... More

We appreciate your kind words and thank you for sharing that the location is great for exploring along the coast! We're very near Rockland, and about 2 hours from either Portland or Bar Harbor. Glad you enjoyed breakfast and dinner while you were here! Thanks again! Joanne and Michael More

The Inn is accessible, at the end of a road, yet with a private Island for walking, and appreciating the serenity of nature. The inn is clean and very comfortable. The views of the sea are breathtaking, especially from the dining room. The food was incredible. May sound trite, but very true. Each meal not just delicious but artistically prepared,... More

The real Maine is out your window with the beach at low tide and the islands in the background. At higher tides the lobster boats are working in the distance. Rooms are comfortable with excellent beds, especially in the main building. Walks over the causeway to the quarries are special. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant are outstanding. The inn... Thank you very much! We appreciate your kind words and are so glad you felt comfortable and enjoyed your meals here. We have been slowly refurbishing the inn--just got a new metal roof and painted the annex building over the winter! We look forward to having you stay again. Joanne and Michael More

we were the only guests the first day, which can be a bit lonely; bedroom ok, bathroom very nice, very good views of the harbour. Breakfast ok, funny combo of omelette and French toast. Found the living room downstairs chilly in temperature and vibe. It's hard to go for a walk, all the roads are private, full of No Trespassing... More

Thank you very much for taking time to send a review. April is well before the summer tourist season and it is typical to be the only guests staying at that time. We are sorry you felt lonely! Many people staying with us during other times of the year come for that very reason--the solitude and quiet beauty of the... More

My wife and I recently needed some time to decompress so we took a leisurely ride up US Route 1 in Maine. We spent a night at the Craignair Inn in Spruce Head. If you enjoy a place with some history this is for you. The Inn was originally a boarding house for people working the quarry on nearby Clark... More

We have stayed at the Craignair three times over the past two years...in summer and fall. We have loved every visit. We always feel welcomed by Joanne. The breakfasts from Michael are great...as are the dinners. The view from the porches is wonderful. There are crafts and art displays from the area decorating the main rooms and these are very... I've stayed at Craignair many times, and look forward to it every time I go. It has one of my favorite porches to sit and relax on along the coast. The view is beautiful and expansive.
