A Bed and Breakfast on the coast of Maine seemed like a fitting change from the hotels and motels on our recent trip to New England. Our research eliminated B&B’s without a water view, and while most were jacking up prices for the “leaf peepers,” Craignair Inn was offering a Fall Foliage special, 3 nights for the price of 2.... My husband and I stayed overnight in the main building of the Craignair Inn. We had contracted for a room with a shared bath, but Joanne placed us in an en suite room at no additional charge, since she was painting the other room. Both the room and the bathroom were small but very clean; the bathroom would have benefited... More

We were lucky enough to stop at the Craignair Inn during a brief trip to Maine this past September. Our welcome was warm and friendly, and our room was spotless, comfortable and very homey. As we were new to that area of Maine, Joanne was able to set up our tickets for the Monhegan Island ferry and was extremely helpful... More

My friends and I stayed here for one night. The property rooms are in two buildings, on the site of an old stone quarry and these accommodations were originally for the quarry workers. Rooms are decorated in country style. We stayed in the building away from the main building. We did enjoy the meals (breakfast included was a very good... More

My friends and I came up here for the night for a "Mustang Cruise." It was the most wonderful experience I have ever had a Bed and Breakfast. The owners knew that the room my boyfriend and I had reserved didn't have a view so they switched it for a comparable room with a view. Dinner was EXCELLENT! I would... More

For $25 per plate we got some obliterated halibut and little compensation for the ruined meal. At the very least a seaside restaurant should figure out how to prepare fish. The remaining aspects of the meal were uninspired. Lovely view, polite service, but you're better off at the fish fry shack. Dined there Aug. 2011 and will not go back. More

We've stayed in other b&b's in the area on our biannual trips up to Bar Harbor from the Midwest. This place is very picturesque and charming. Joanne and Michael are laid back and friendly and they are dog friendly! And of course, not to go unmentioned was the unbelievable seafood a la grecque on the dinner menu..fantastic! It's a bit... We spent two nights at the Craignair, it was our first time there, and we literally fell in love with this place! We stayed in the older inn, the one closer to the water. The inn is beautiful and absolutely full of charm and nice details (without being an overbearing collection of dusty bric a bracs). Our room was very... More

The Craignair Inn is in a beautiful location right on the water. Spectacular views. The rooms are warm, welcoming and spotless! We had both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and each was better than the previous. Without question the best salmon I've ever had. Further stated, I'm not a fan of blueberry muffins, HOWEVER, I could have eaten a... More
