Winters in Maine are reputed to be long and dark. For those who care to look around, there are actually lots of things to do and places to go during the colder months. One of our favorites, starting in January, is the Craignair Inn for Burger Night on Friday nights! The restaurant is open on Friday nights and only serves... More

How fun that our Friday Night Burger Nights are getting famous!! Thank you so much for writing this. When we bought the Inn 4 years ago we held many fundraiser-type dinners. The Burger Night has been the most popular and we're proud to say we've raised thousands of dollars for local organizations...this year a dollar of every burger goes to... More

I loved this inn so very much. The room was clean and and had a beautiful view. The night sky was so epic and gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious and the service was super. It was such a great location to so many fun activities around the area. The only thing I would suggest (sorry!) is to update the decor a... More

Thank you so much! It's always nice when our guests take the time to send us feedback. Very much appreciated it. Good news for the updates! We've got several rooms in the Vestry Building under renovation as we speak. And, I'm glad you found lots to do around here! We are located in the middle of Mid-Coast Maine--the perfect spot... More

We stayed at the Craignair during the first weekend of October, and I am still lingering over the memories! We had a room in the main building, with a view of the ocean. Waking up our first morning to the sunrise over the water was one of my favorite moments! Everything about the inn was charming and friendly...the food was... More

We were part of a wedding party, many of whom stayed here for several days. We were initially apprehensive because we had never stayed at a B & B or an "inn" before this event. Joanne warmly greeted us when we arrived and gave us the layout of the land and some suggested activities during our stay. Our room was... More

I stayed in the main building facing the ocean. Room was very clean, nice and neat. It is charming building from 1930's. Floors are squeaky as you walk but that is fine. You share the bathroom and shower but I did not have a problem with that. Hotel staff is very polite. Clean towels and robes. TV etc. Very tasty... More

Thank you so much! We appreciate your time writing a review for us and are glad you enjoyed your time. A quick correction: we have 12 rooms in the Inn. 7 of them share bathrooms (no more than 2 rooms to a bathroom) and 5 of them have private bathrooms. All of the 8 rooms in the Vestry Annex Building... More

Passing through the Rockland area in Maine I always stay at Craignair Inn. I make a point of it. A very welcoming place it is, offering comfortable, well kept accommodations; no frills. The location is truly unique. The walk on nearby Clark island across the causeway is so very pleasant. As proprietors Joanne and Michael have perfected the art of... More

Thank you for your review and for making a point to stay with us when you're in the area! It's true--we are just 10-15 minutes from Rockland, but it feels very far from city life! We're so glad you feel welcome and comfortable here. Thanks again! Joanne More

The Craignair was the perfect home-base to host ~35 friends for a long-weekend. With Joanne and Michael's (the inn keepers) help, we planned an all-in weekend of Maine fun for friends rather than hosting a traditional wedding. The inn created a fantastic central spot for everyone to stay, enjoy meals, and gather in the late evenings. Joanne went above and... More

This hotel used to be run down, and is now a real treasure, thanks to the creativity of the new owners, Joanne and Michael. Thank you! Great tip about the kayaking!! Kayaking is beautiful around here but you're right--in order to get your kayak to the water you'll have to pull it over the rocky causeway. Thanks for staying with us! More

We returned to the Craignair this year for another wonderful meal for a large group (12) of friends who had traveled by sail and auto for a summer gathering. My partner and I stayed three nights during one of the worst heat waves ever in NE. I had stayed in this Inn before but never in the Annex or the Vestry and it was a good thing we did because the Vestry has A/C while the main building does not. Our stay was just about perfect. We could sit... More
