The Yellow Aster is well worth a visit for those who like fresh, organic, unique, meat-free breakfasts. Good ones like this are hard to find in the Northeast. The proximity to good restaurants in Southwest Harbor is also a real plus. I agree with the prior post--rooms are basic, clean, adequate, a little on the small side (but who comes to MDI to sit inside), and fairly priced. We enjoyed being off-the-beaten Bar Harbor path. The Yellow Aster is conveniently located close to the town of Southwest Harbour where there are shops and good food. It is a nice part of the island to be located as it is far quieter than Bar Harbor. The accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable and good value for money.
