I've reviewed Acadia Cottages twice before (see 2008 and 2011), and with new owners in place since our last stay in 2012, I wanted to quickly note that nothing has changed: This is still THE place to stay on MDI. Tom and Vickie have done a superb job in their first season, and our recent eight-day stay in "our" Cabin... More

We spent two nights at Arcadia Cottages and were quite pleased with our experience. What a quiet and relaxing place to begin our two week holiday. The cottage (number 10) was clean and comfortable. Towels and sheets were amazing. This proprietor really cares about both the environment and the comfort of his customers. Would love to return and stay longer

It is always a pleasure to return to Acadia Cottages. I wasn't sure what to expect with the new owners but Tom and Vicki are wonderful hosts. The studio cottage is perfect for the couple that wants to truly relax. We brought most of our own food so we could use the kitchenette. Who doesn't want to sit on the... More

These little cottages have everything that you might need. Books on the park, flashlights, day packs for hiking, swim towels for the lakes - they were all available. On top of that, although on a few hundred square feet, the cottages have everything that you need. The kitchenettes are perfect for making breakfast before heading out for a long day... More

We loved our recent stay at Acadia Cottages. We stayed in Cottage 4 and it was perfect! The cottage was very clean, cozy, peaceful and quiet. The property itself is very tidy and "green" oriented, which I loved!!! There's lots of great local info at the Acadia Cottage office. The staff is very friendly, helpful and made us feel right... My husband and I recently returned from a week in Acadia, and could not have been happier with our stay at Acadia Cottages. Tom and Vicky made our stay extra special from start to finish- from the cookies in our cottage upon check-in, to printing maps for us when needed, suggesting hikes, trails, sightseeing, restaurants, and places to buy lobster.... We loved the studio cottage. It was so quaint and clean. Cottage 11 is the last one on the road so our large picture window faced out to the woods. Our hosts left cookies upon check in and we also appreciate all the environmentally friendly products used from cleaning to toiletries. We loved our stay in the woods of Maine.

My daughter and I planned a week in Maine and our first lodging was 3 nights at Acadia Cottages and we were quite delighted. Our 'cabin' was roomy with a small kitchen, large bathroom and comfortable bed. Even though we were a only a few feet from the main street we felt as if we were miles away. Quiet and beautiful... We were truly pleased with our honeymoon stay at Acadia Cottages. The suite cabin was spacious and comfortable, and we appreciated the efforts to be eco-conscious (recycling bins, housekeeping services only on request). The TV was small, but adequate. The bed was very comfortable. We were promptly greeted and checked in when we arrived, and offered a library of resources... More

I have stayed here on four separate occasions, always in September. Nice little gem. Acadia cottages is in walking distance to food and services of southwest harbor. Though on Main Street the cottages are back in the trees, and up the road so you do not hear road noise. Free wifi or use of a computer in the common room.... More
