Checking in was a little strange. We were left hanging around in the restaurant to the point where I started to think they did not have our reservation. It was all taken care of in the end by the restaurant staff who were very nice and friendly. Loved the room, it was clean and bright with some quirky pieces of... More

When we first pulled up we weren't sure about it... We were use to staying in hotels. But when we checked in the staff was automatically friendly and when we walked in the door of our room there was a personal note from the owner (you can't get those at any hotel that we have stayed at). The room felt... More

Thank you for your review. We have tried to keep the rooms updated, but not so as to be like a chain hotel. You described exactly what we were trying to achieve and as our building is almost 100 years old we wanted to keep that charm in our rooms and décor. Thank you for choosing our inn and staying... This is a nice review, but is not us. We no longer have a view of the harbor since the trees have grown up and a large house was built and blocked our view. None of our rooms can see the harbor. We do have great food in our restaurant and are located right in the center of town. I... More

We were on our way back to Bar Harbor and stopped in Southwest a Harbor for ice cream. The shop was closed so we walked around for a bit. We ran across Cafe Drydock's message board that listed oysters. We sat outside and enjoyed a dozen oysters and a Bar Harbor Ale! What a pleasant surprise. Out waitress, who is... More

My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant while exploring Southwest Harbor during our recent vacation to Bar Harbor. We ordered clam chowder and the mussels. We were blown away by how delicious everything was and immediately made reservations for dinner later in the week. On our second trip we again got the mussels, my wife got swordfish and I... More

Thank you for the great review. Everyone here tries hard to make your experience an enjoyable one. Our dishes are tried and true and high light some of the best from around this island. Today I was in one of our gardens picking kale, cilantro, and tomatoes to work into some of our recipes. Thanks again for your review. More

It was a rainy evening and my husband and I were looking for a place in Southwest Harbor to eat. We looked at a few places before deciding on the Cafe Drydock and are very glad we did. When we entered, the place was crowded and a bit noisy so we asked if we could be seated on the other... More

Thank you for your review. Remy is our granddaughter and has grown up in the restaurant. We have a little of everything for everyone. Our burgers are ground fresh daily at a local market and our salad dressing is made from scratch along with our desserts. We are glad you enjoyed your experience here and thanks again for your review. More

It is a cosy restaurant. The food was excellent, The Chowder, the Moroccan Chicken, lobster roll and BLT were all winners. Ditto for the blueberry crumble with whipped cream and ice cream. Several family groups and has an outside area for pretty days. Nice attentive servers.

Thank you for you nice review. We try to stay on top of our business and procure the best seafood and food items we can. We pride ourselves in buying local as much as we can and have two gardens where we grow herbs and vegies that are used in the restaurant. Today we harvested kale for our soups and... More

My daughter and I stopped by for a nice fiah dinner. Horseradish crusted Haddock and Lemon baked Halibut. Both very good. Also had the smoked salmon appetizer. It was excellent once the we got some straight horesradish to go along with the salmon. My daughter had the Caesar Salad, also very good. Very nice meal.

Thank you for your review. We buy local fish when in season and other seafood items right here at the docks. There are many great products from the ocean including local oysters, mussels, and shellfish. Thanks again for visiting us and your nice review. More

Hub and I stayed here for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Such nice people own it. Kudos to the young man who helped us with our bags and kept our room clean. We stayed in room 1, which is the biggest room. It has living room, bedroom, bathroom and full kitchen. It looks out over Main Street and across... More

Thank you very much for staying with us. Allen is normally our chef, but in a small town you have to be flexible during our shoulder season. He does a great job of working around the inn while waiting for our restaurant to open. There are about 1700 year round residents including us. We have that small town appeal with... More

I stopped into the cafe Drydock for a beer after a long day hiking in Acadia. I was planning on just having a beer and figuring out my following days activities. The waitress was super nice and recommended the mussels as well as a few other options and I decided I was in Maine, I should give them a try.... More
