Don and Marge Lodge operate a modest but quiet, restful, cozy, clean and neat B&B on the Seawall Road in Southwest Harbor on Mt. Desert Island. My recent four day stay with the Lodges could not have been more satisfying and enjoyable. On top of everything else, Don makes a terrific breakfast and he goes out of his way to... More

My mom and I came to visit Acadia for the first time over July 4th weekend and after calling every B&B we lucked out with Don. Wonderful host, amazing cooked to order breakfasts with incredible variety of choices (more than any B&B I stayed in before). Don was so nice that he even mailed me back my phone charger when... We had a very nice stay at the Lodge-ings for 3 nights. An excellent value!!! We traveled to Maine for a family wedding and took had a day and a half to enjoy Acadia National Park as well. The B & B is very comfortable, very clean, and in a very pleasant location on the "quiet" side of the island.... More

What a very nice and comfortable place the Lodge-ings turned out to be. Our second B & B experience and it was absolutely great Don and Marge were excellent hosts and very helpful with trip plans and suggestions for dining. Dining!? Breakfast?! Awesome!! Don has the "presence", but Marge does the baking. Not a treat to be missed or taken... More

My family and I had a wonderful stay in The Lodge-Ings. It would definitely qualify as a highlight of our two-week road trip through New England. Don and Marge were excellent hosts, as enumerated by other reviewers here. The room was comfortable and impeccably clean. Don's breakfasts were a treat. Don and Marge are never intrusive but always available for... More

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at the Lodge-ings with Don and Marge. It was a wonderful experience. Their home is comfortably compact. While the guest bedrooms are arranged in a cluster upstairs, there was no intrusive noise. The house is conveniently situated on Sea Wall Road. If you haven't visited Southewest Harbor before,... The Lodge-ings is a small B&B lovingly run by Don and Marge Lodge. It offers nice views of the water, convenient access to Southwest Harbor (near but not in-town) which is a far preferable place to stay on MDI than the more honky-tonk Bar Harbor, wonderfully knowledgeable and friendly hosts, terrific breakfast options and very nicely appointed rooms. We have... More

We had a lovely 3 night stay here for our 6th anniversary and it is one of our favorite of a dozen B&B stays. Don was friendly and fun, gave lots of local spots to try (we visited Ship Harbor and Seawall at his recommendation and loved both!!) and made a great breakfast. He was very sociable -- we had... Lovely spot off the beaten path with a view of the harbor. Hosts were very friendly and offered great advice about things to do on Mount Desert Island, very knowledgeable about Acadia National Park and the area. Room was very clean. Food was great, each guest chose breakfast the night before from a varied rotating menus. I would stay here... More

We found this place by luck. Don Lodge has retired to Southwest Harbor (on the quiet side of Mt Desert Island) and thought he would be bored. So he and Marge opened a B&B. Don loves to cook and experimented with all sorts of new recipes when we told him we ate vegan (grilled portabella on English muffin with hummus... More
