The breakfasts were very good, the staff was very nice and the place was clean and pleasant. I'd stay there again. We stayed in the cottage with our one child. It's small but cozy. When I say small, I mean if you're not a relatively thin person you might have problems in the bedroom - the bed pretty much fills... More

My husband and I stayed at the Lindenwood Inn for two nights in late June. This was our first time at the Inn, and we had a fantastic time. We picked our room online, and could not have been more pleased with the lovely decor, gas fireplace, and picture window with a great view of the harbor. We had our... More

Two nights here as part of a longer tour of New England. Arriving in a thick fog the welcome was warm and friendly. The room at the top of the house has an amazing and enormous deck I highly recommend it just for the views even if you do have to sleep with Winston. The Inn is so friendly without... More

We have been staying here for over 10 years and always found it an outstanding experience and consistently excellent. Not lavish or overdone, but well done and a delightful base for exploring Mt. Desert and the surrounding areas. Lovely site, rooms, breakfast and hosts.

Warmly greeted by the hosts. Rooms were immaculate and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was wonderful, and the chef/innkeeper developed a special menu on the fly, due to family member having special dietary requirements. The stay could not have been better, and we highly recommend this inn.

From the moment you enter, Fred and Jim are there to meet your every need, sometimes before you know you need/want it. Everything is beautifully thought out from the fascinating art from all over the world in the Inn public areas and rooms to the exquisite breakfasts prepared to your particular needs, such as gluten- or dairy-free. I have stayed... More

We visited the Lindenwood in August 2014 for 4 nights. We were greeted and checked in quickly, and shown around the property. Our room was in the house next door on the second floor with a balcony and view down to the harbour. The inn was very nicely appointed with a great breakfast and handy extras like a kitchen (with... My partner and I stayed at the Lindenwood Inn over the MDI marathon weekend. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the staff and taken to our room. To our surprise, we were given a room upgrade which had a great view of Southwest Harbor. The inn was impeccably clean, had great hospitality, and served a delicious breakfast. The location... More

We spent three nights at Lindenwood and were as happy as could be. We had one of the larger rooms and were very comfortable, enjoyed the excellent breakfasts, and liked being in Southwest Harbor (except for the road construction a mile or so from the Inn, which should be over very soon). We had, um, challenging neighbors for two nights,... More

By staying in Southwest Harbor at the Lindenwood Inn we were able to miss the "tourism" of Bar Harbor in Acadia. This quaint B & B sets off the beaten path but easy walking distance a local pier which houses one of the best Lobster Pounds in Maine, Beal's Lobster Pound. It is also within walking distance of the hub... More
