Fred will make you feel at home, and insist you take advantage of the hot tub and heated pool (we did)! They've thought of everything, making your stay comfortable and pleasant. Pick any room you'd like - they are all wonderful ( we didn't see the "penthouse" room). I really liked staying on this side of the island. We could... more

Fred is a terrific host, very helpful with what to do in town and how to maximize our time in Acadia (e.g. where to rent bikes & get a picnic lunch). This is a lovely place; we could have spent much more time poolside were the national park not tearing us away. The location is great, an easy stroll to... more

I loved staying in Southwest Harbor, and I think choosing the Lindenwood for accommodation was a lot of the reason why. The house is beautiful, and very comfortable. It's run in a friendly, unfussy way that a lot of other inns and B&Bs could learn from! If I return in Maine in the future I'll be heading to Acadia NP... more

We have stayed at the Lindenwood numerous times and every visit has been wonderful. Fred the Inn keeper is charming and entertaining. We have stayed in many of the rooms and they each have their own unique style. The sheets and bedding are a dream. I was suprised to read one of the negative reviews on the breakfast. The breakfast... more

We stayed 2 nights in the Penthouse room in early Sept. The room is very nice but as everyone says you must watch your head, depending on how tall you are. This is worst for the person who sleeps on the right side of the bed, because when you get up if it's dark you need to remember the low... more

Great B&B overlooking the harbor on a quiet street on Mt. Desert Island, away from the crowds of Bar Harbor. The Lindenwood is immaculate and owners are friendly and accomodating without being overbearing. There is a great hot tub in the fenced yard that is perfect when the weather is cold, as well as a heated pool. You can pour... more

My husband and I stayed at the Lindenwood Inn the first week in September. This is our 2nd time returning to the Inn. Fred and Jim were so helpful and treated us as their family. We were so impressed with the pool and the hot tub with the cozy robes. The breakfast each morning was so delightful and delicious. Fred... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our all too brief stay at Lindenwood. It's a charming place with only eight rooms all located upstairs. All are well appointed and maintained. Downstairs are cozy living and dining areas with a self-service bar. There's also a great hot tub and pool. An unexpected treat was an excellent cold breakfast buffet and a proper English breakfast.... more

We stayed at the Lindenwood based on the reviews here and in Frommers. Our perspectives are a bit different then others on the page. We stayed one night in the penthouse suite. . . as described in other reviews it is REALLY small and not well ventilated. The deck is spectacular though (again as others described). We got a discount... more

We stayed at Lindenwood Inn for 3 nights. We were in the Penthouse on the top floor. What we didn't realize is that the ceilings really slope down and there is only limited space to stand upright. If you are tall, this may not be the room for you; it's easy to hit your head. Also not good if you're... more
