Wandered into Southwest Harbor on a Saturday in October, looking for a place to stay with my two college-aged kids. Esther said I was in luck since the only room left was a two-room suite with a queen and two twins. I was all set to negotiate on the price until she gave me the rate--which was too fair to... more

Excellent location. Very convenient. Very comfortable B&B. Great Breakfasts. What makes it extra special are the two women who run the place -- full of life and information. They make your visit a pleasure. Highly recommend. more

This is among the best b & bs in which we've stayed anywhere in the world. Our bedroom was large, comfortable, spotlessly clean, interestingly furnished, with everything that we needed and nothing that we didn't. There were good books everywhere. The public sitting room was cheerful and welcoming, with a permanent supply of coffee and tea, cookies or cake, and... more

We stayed here for three nights in early August. We have traveled quite a bit throughout the US, and this town has to be in our top 3 favorite places. The Inn is perfect- it is right in the middle of Southwest Harbor, so you can walk 50 yards to the store for wine, etc to enjoy on the front... more

We would go along with the other reviews. A really nice place to stay run by friendly people who know the area well. We would have no hesitation about going back again. Breakfast was very nice. The only negative note is that the owner is wanting to retire from the business after this season and has the place up for... more

Excellent beds, food, and advice. Really helpful, inc. getting discounts on dinner at recommended restaurants, use of'phone, drinks available all day, no fuss over times. Cleanliness A1. Minor gripe-slight traffic noise-ask for rooms at rear. more

It was such a great pleasure to arrive at an Inn and immediately like what we saw and the people who worked there and owned the Inn; Ester and Sandy. We found the many antique furnishings intriguing and in such good taste. The wooden floors of the Inn were lovely and a joy to have around us. The rooms, again... more

We recently had the opportunity to stay at one of the nicest bed and breakfasts we have ever stayed in. The Inn at Southwest is located in Southwest Harbor, Maine. The inn is about 5 minutes from the entrance to Acadia National Park. Actually, the park has about 4 different parts and all are near Southwest Harbor so we called... more

We've stayed at the Inn at Southwest several times now, over the past 2 years. The innkeepers make us feel at home, with excellent and inventive breakfasts (or just the simple oatmeal that my husband prefers), comfortable beds with lots of pillows, and a wonderful living room with a fireplace, tea and coffee service, and afternoon home-made cookies. The kitchen... more

My family and I have been coming to the Inn at Southwest for seven years. The owners are very kind and friendly and treat you like family. The rooms and common areas for lounging and dining have all been renovated; the food is excellent and service unparalleled. The inn is located in Southwest Harbor which is close enought to everything... more
