From check-in to convenience to charm and friendliness, the Inn at Southwest provided the right matrix for our pleasant stay on Mt. Desert Island. The people who run this Inn are friendly and helpful, and the vibe here is relaxed and smart -"chill but attentive". A return visit is not a matter of if but when, and we hope it... More

Our goal was to explore Acadia Nat'l Park Carriage Trails with our bikes. It's the line of bike meant for road and off-road. I have a Roam XR and my wife has a Rove. Tires are Roam 700x40 and Rove 700x32 - they have smooth centre, with ridges on the edges for gravel/off road. Acadia Park Carriage Roads (all 50... More

A really fabulous B&B in a great location for exploring the west side of Mount Desert. We had a great welcome, the room was beautiful, the rest of the building is full of lovely furniture, books, maps, artefacts etc. Sadly we only stayed one night but would have stayed longer had we the time. We'd definitely recommend a stay here... More

I spent 7 days at the Inn at Southwest. The staff, owner and property are wonderful. I totally enjoyed myself. The breakfasts are over the top yummy, having coffee, snacks and tea available during the day is also very nice. My room was very comfortable and well appointed. I definately will go back there again!!!!

Smack in the middle of SW Harbor. Several restaurants and stores nearby. Short walk to the harbor itself. (This is a working harbor, so actual access to the water is limited. But if you want to see a real working harbor, and all it's smells, etc have fun.) It's on the main road, so there is some noise - and... More

Wow, what a treat we had when we stayed at The Inn at Southwest! Their website is very informative and accurate which was probably the reason we chose to stay here whilst visiting Acadia. The inn is beautifully furnished with lots of antiques around giving a lovely homely feel. The bedrooms are all individually sized and decorated, giving lots of... More

We spent a week at this Inn and had a very enjoyable time. We stayed in the Pemaquid Point Suite which was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was quite tasty. It is close to the water, stores and restaurants. There's even a bike rental shop just across the street. We plan to stay there again as... More

Stayed there in July 2013 for three nights while touring in Acadia National Park. Have been to the region a couple times before but never stayed in Southwest Harbor. Liked the small town, less crowded and quieter atmosphere. The Inn was very nice, staff was accommodating, and breakfast was a treat. Would definitely stay there again.

The rooms are very small with a bathroom that is smaller than the tiniest closet. The breakfast appears elaborate, but is really just fair, with unusual cutting of corners, eg, waffles served without syrup. The ambience is gloomy. The location is far from any significant body of water. The inn pretends a level of comfort that it may have had... More
