We have always stayed at another place in Portland we when traveled there, but due to many issues including noise and dining issues. I had high expectations for the Marriott at sable oaks, we even joined Marriott rewards travel. I have stayed previously at other Marriotts across the country, including an absolutely amazing stay in Boulder, Colorado. It was spotless... More

I come to this hotel every April for a conference. The hotel is clean, comfortable and well maintained, though I have to note that the TV is situated in a very awkward viewing position to the bed. I don't remember that from the last time I was there, so maybe it was just this particular room. What makes this hotel... More

I fly into and out of Portland, Maine, almost weekly and have for the last 15+ months. Upon arrival I drive north into central Maine, but on my go-home day, I usually try to fly out on the 1st departure (6AM to LGA) to minimize the accumulating delays that are built into current day air travel. Based on this, I... More

it was a great breakfast with hotel stay, worth the extra. internet upgrade at a modest cost. the maine mall just down the street with lots of family friendly resturaunts nearby. in room coffee could use a serious upgrade considering the amount one pays for a room. something with flavor perhaps.

My wife and I stayed for two nights. the beds do not seem like the normal Marriot beds but were better than the average hotel. I was at a conference that was done by thei property with execelence. the food service was great and the people serving was very prompt and efficient. We recently spent 3 nights at this hotel as part of a hockey tournament. Upon check-in we were told our group didn't guarantee double beds, so our family of 4 got a tiny room with a king bed and pull out sofa. OMG - the pullout was from the late 80s - tiny, old bed springs with the bar in... More

VTMom2. Thank you for your feedback on the March weekend that you spent with us here at Sable Oaks. I am very sorry that you did not receive a restful night sleep. Our hotel has a mix of king beds with a foldout couch and rooms with two full size beds. The ratio is two thirds kings to one third... More

During a whirl wind tour with my daughter through Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, it was great to stop at this hotel in Portland, Maine and chill for a night. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean. Portland is a neat town to visit.

Had to make last minute reservation change from Residence Inn Auburn ME (5 stars by the way) for an early morning flight back due to PHL weather (excellent customer service USAIR!!). Anyway, upon check-in I was warmly greeted, my notes were referenced and I was given a room on a high floor, away from vending and elevators. The front desk... More

We had connecting rooms (traveling with kids), on the corner of the hotel, which were HUGE. And clean. Newly renovated hotel. Nice pool area and gym. Good location. Very pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed out stay. Yes, very pricey, but probably because it is the nicest hotel in the area.

At first glance, this is a standard issue Marriott. What sets this Marriott apart are the service levels. The service is fabulous!! Case and point... I had a very, very early departure at the airport. The Marriott shuttle took me. After I got through security, I realized that I had left both my iPad and Kindle in the room. I... More
